Chris Christie attacks libertarians

ASPEN, Colo. — New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R) on Thursday offered a clear broadside against Republicans drifting toward a more libertarian view of foreign policy, lumping Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) in with them and suggesting they explain their position to victims of the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks.
The House earlier this week narrowly voted against a reduction in funding for the National Security Agency, as libertarian-leaning members from both sides joined together to vote for the amendment.
“As a former prosecutor who was appointed by President George W. Bush on Sept. 10, 2001, I just want us to be really cautious, because this strain of libertarianism that’s going through both parties right now and making big headlines, I think, is a very dangerous thought,” Christie said.
Asked whether he includes Paul — a fellow potential 2016 presidential candidate — in his criticism, Christie didn’t back down.
“You can name any one of them that’s engaged in this,” he said. “I want them to come to New Jersey and sit across from the widows and the orphans and have that conversation. … I’m very nervous about the direction this is moving in.”

Christie also praised the national security strategies of both President Obama and George W. Bush.

Love this line

“I want them to come to New Jersey and sit across from the widows and the orphans and have that conversation. … I’m very nervous about the direction this is moving in.”

Because when everything fails, use emotional appeal to beat em down. Who here is capable of telling the widowers from 911 that we shouldn't fight every war humanly possible to kill the people who were responsible for their husband's death? This is how they will win, it works all the time and will continue working till we all lose ala Detroit.

You never say no to a crying child, never say no to a grieving widow

This is why I'm scared of him. The man is up to his gullet in the establishment. They were pushing for him to get in in 2012 when Romney wasn't cutting it. With Rubio's implosion, I expect he'll be fully supported by the millions upon millions that Rove and the neocons can throw at him.

And God forbid if he were to win. It would effectively kill the liberty movement in the GOP, and we know the Democrats will never be open to us.

Still, Rand's leading, so I'm cautiously optimistic that he can beat Christie. But it is going to be tough.

Rand will just need to run all kinds of commercials in Iowa in 2016 about how Christie supports gun control. That stance is going to kill his chances.

One thing is for sure. If he does run for President, in his poor shape, he is going to have a hard time keeping up with the schedule. I don't think it's going to work out so well for him.

Didn't he have weight loss surgery recently?
