ChipIn for Alaskan Delegates

Can the campaign get involved with paying for stuff like this? Why on earth does Alaska charge $250 to be a delegate?

They raised the convention fees because we scared the pants off of them four years ago. They know we have a mostly younger group that has a hard time paying for things. We had people opening their homes as a crash pad and delegates eating sack lunches while the establishment rhinos had 4-star accommodations and the best dining in Anchorage. The Paul delegates were a force to be reckoned with however. We developed a theory that if you eat stale sandwiches and sleep on the floor you'll be a lot louder in the next voice vote!

Do you know if there is a deadline to register to vote or to register as a Republican? I have heard that you can register AT the convention on March 6. Can you confirm this?

I am not sure I understand the process, how do I know that the money is going to pay for committed Ron Paul delegates?

If you can prove that they are Ron Paul delegates and the campaign will not pay, I will pay for this.

BUMP!

If you want to win a state, Alaska is one of the best shots we've got. THIS IS IMPORTANT!

How many total delegates are expected at the state convention? It is important to have a majority of RP delegates at the state convention then it is possible to get far more than 10 delegates... maybe all or most of the delegates. Has anyone contacted the official campaign? If not the official campaign how about RevPac? This appears to be a perfect situation for RevPac to step in, donate enough to ensure RP has a majority at the state convention.

I will recommend to my contacts in Alaska that they try to get in touch with RevPac.

Last time the state convention had something close to 350 delegates (I'm not sure of the exact number). There were 105 Ron Paul delegates to State, including myself, my mother and my father.

I'm not sure how to offer proof, but please read what my father wrote earlier in this thread:

I am the one collecting money on the chip-in and I will attempt to match the funds contributed to the best of my ability (which is not a whole lot at the moment unless I withdraw some savings). My spouse and I were delegate/delegate-alternates to the national convention last time, and the entire election set us back more than $8,000, which was a big sacrifice, but since I first contributed to Ron Paul's congressional campaign back in the 1970's when I read about him in a hard money newsletter, I have had no politician who truly represented me as well as Ron Paul does.

We are off to a rocky and late start here in Alaska as everyone seems to feel broke and hesitant to jump into the fray this time. Your help with this chip-in, no matter how modest, will be greatly appreciated and will not be spent frivolously. If we spend money on something of questionable value, I will spend my own money. If you are unable to help in this Alaska chip-in, thank you for your support for Ron Paul in anyway you can help!

I will itemize expenditures from this chip-in and make them available after the completion of the Alaska republican convention.

Whomever is in charge of this chip in, PM this member!!!

I am in charge of this chip-in and it has already been spent many times over. I have committed to sponsoring up to five delegates to the state convention at $250 each. I planned to have money for radio spots, etc., but have spent quit a bit on signage, and printing fees. For example, I printed 1000 copies of this document: http://www.davemcgraw.com/RonPaul/OneMoreThing.pdf and I printed 500 copies of this document: http://www.davemcgraw.com/RonPaul/ExitPollFlyer.pdf. Also I have procured quite a few signs since the national campaign had none for us, and on Mack rd that is a small non-populated road that leads the the local polling place for four of our Mat-Su Valley districts, I have provided signs and material to a young local volunteer to make a "presentation" to voters that make the short drive along the unpopulated road to the polling place. I have been intermittently s******ing at what will happen tomorrow afternoon at 4:00 O'clock when the Presidential Preference Poll opens and people drive through a stately row of Ron Paul monuments to get there.

Since I might be in Anchorage on the radio at that time, I want pictures or a youtube of the drive! LOL!. We do what we can, but in this case I must admit it is so funny!

I am not looking for more money and the chip-in will close. We are pushing for people to get themselves elected to state as delegates-- even if the cannot afford the $250 delegate fee. It may turn out that we will need some help form the rest of the USA to create dominance at the Alaska state convention, and the only way to accomplish that may be to have each delegate with monetary issues start an individual chipin.
