Murdering Iranians

March 28, 2008

Posted by Lew Rockwell at March 28, 2008 09:35 AM

Terrible rumors from Russia continue to swirl around the Middle East that the Cheney-Bush junta has decided to bomb Iran on April 4th or 6th, targeting not only nuclear-power research facilities but ships, planes, antiaircraft installations, and the Iranian pentagon. Apparently the nuclear-power reactor being built by Russian companies will be spared, but not much else. Will it happen? Certainly the neocon hate network is working overtime to make it so. Bush fired the anti-neocon Admiral Fallon.

One thing we know for sure: it will be the typical Bush administration snafu, with horrific consequences for the region and the world, not to speak of the Iranian people, and reap much trouble for the US empire. Indeed, it could mark the end of the empire if, as Bill Lind worries, the Iranians in retaliation cut off water-food-ammo supply routes to US troops in Iraq, and, with the help of Shiite militians, capture large numbers of them. Need I mention that Ron Paul, our champion of peace, is the leading opponent of war on Iran?

You know, as sick as people are of war, and since McCain sang about it (which even the most intentionally dense voter tends to remember), this could actually hurt McCain's chances more than getting busted for campaign finance violations.

I've been anticipating an attack on Iran for many months now. It's obvious that the neocons have been hard at work trying to build the rationale for it. They will likely present some highly questionable evidence purporting to show a link between Iraqi insurgents and Iranian officials, and the media and most of the American people will buy into it.

I wish Isreal would do its own dirty work. There will be major consequences if this comes to fruition.

That is just so irrational.

With Fallon gone, the recent cut internet cables and playing chicken with the little boats selling cigarettes and Bush wanting to get his killing program going forward before the election, the current economy and everything else, this is not a good idea.

They will probably bomb the new oil bourse among other things. What is his excuse this time?

Oh, yes, they probably have WMD and again the nuclear excuse.

Damn. Hope this is a bluff.

What is his excuse this time?

That is the sixty four thousand dollar question, and all the most logical answers scare the hell out of me.

Stay away from Federal buildings for a couple of weeks, folks.

If such things were predictable to the month we could all make a killing on the stock market.

The idea they will bomb Iran in April based on 'rumours from russia' is therfore nonsense...

I think it is more of a means to an end than an excuse. He doesn't need to justify his actions. He's the Decider, remember?

I think this may be the vehicle by which to unleash those Executive Orders he has waiting in the wings.

It is beyond evil for Bush/Cheney to commit this act. Cheney made the same world tour before Iraq was invaded. I can not understand why the rest of the world is sitting by and letting it happen UNLESS the rest of the world (those countries with any clout) is complicit.

Intensive Airforce night exercises. War on Iran imminent?

Hill Air Force base in Northern Utah is on intensive night exercise run. Aerial war on Iran imminent?

So much for the "Sound of Freedom" as the sheeple bleats in the message boards and on the news to justify the "horrific", aggressive jet noise buzzing the neighboring cities late at night and in early morning.

I don't believe the local corporate news propaganda cheerfully claiming the weather is to blame for the schedule change in exercise and landing runs. Neither should you.

It's not that I disbelieve that it could happen. I just don't get the logic behind announcing it. It doesn't make any sense. Even if it was accurate, now that even the Ron Paul kooks know about it wouldn't they change the time frame? It just seems to my simple mind that when you attack someone you don't necessarily want them to see it coming.

I don't see how our Republican authorities could pull this off without severely damaging McCain's campaign for President. Do they really want to lose their power? The only explanation I can think of is that they're making an attempt to reestablish the fear of Islamic terrorists flying planes into our homes and churches. Taking this risk makes sense. The American public is bitterly opposed to the Republican Party right now. There's a very good chance that McCain will lose the election anyway. Since their "Fear Plan B" of evil Mexicans invading our country doesn't seem to be working, why not give "Plan A" another try?
