I'm not making this stuff up...this is from another Santorum rally in Michigan this week:

The date of the Michigan primary — Feb. 28 — had been known for four months. But it wasn’t until last weekend that Santorum’s campaign contacted Hope College, a Christian school in Michigan’s conservative west. They needed a room for 200 people. And they needed it Monday.

Santorum’s people were both late and wrong. Their man was surging in Michigan — they needed a room for 400 people.

Ron Paul delivers campaign speech Saturday to full Plachta Auditorium

A crowd of those who were not admitted stood in the lobby outside, listening to an audio feed of the speech.

Paul spoke, flanked by veterans of the armed forces, about a variety of topics, most of them dealing with personal and economic freedom.

“Today, there’s a semblance of prosperity in this country … but it’s all based on debt,” Paul said.

The congressman from Texas spoke out against further wars, including the prospect of intervention in Iran.

“We don’t need another war, we need less war,” he said, a line that received substantial applause.

He ended the speech with, “Those are my goals; peace and prosperity.”

Paul was brought to Central Michigan University by Campus Conversatives, a registered student organization. Campus Conservatives President Taylor Jackson, a Mount Pleasant senior, said the night was definitely a success.

“It went very well,” he said. “This was big, especially for our group.”

While the RSO will not be offering an endorsement, Jackson said the enthusiasm of the audience was a positive sign.

“There was a tremendous amount of energy in the audience,” he said. “Dr. Paul was very well received by everyone there.”
