Two of Ben Carson's Top Aides Quit Campaign
Two top aides to Republican presidential candidate Ben Carson have quit the campaign, NBC News has confirmed.

In an another sign that Carson's campaign is struggling, Campaign Manager Barry Bennett and Communications Director Doug Watts

At this rate he might not make it to Iowa. Good luck trying to find replacements for these top posistions at this stage of the game with a campaign that's bleeding money. This is different from when McCain had his election issues before being propped up by the media. I think the media is done with Carson and the other GOP consultants have already picked his campaign funds dry.

Also keep in mind that McCain, while horribly wrong on just about every issue, had a decent stage presence and a certain degree of charisma. Carson just isn't cut out for politics in the world of internet and television, he literally comes off as having no energy, and sadly most voters would sooner be entertained than be told the truth. And yes, the media isn't going to give Carson any help, they'll more likely try to prop up Santorum again or more likely continue propping up Christie than resurrect Carson. I'm hoping that Carson drops really soon, like within the next couple days, so Rand will be an absolutely shoe-in for the main debate stage.

Carson made his rise independent of the media propping him up the first time, so if he's got stuff left, he will rise despite the media the second time. He can simply promote one of the assistant managers to the position of main or chief campaign manager. Although his votes 'should' move to Rand if he quits, Rand's non-engagement of the non-establishment voters could have alienated them, and may cause them to bounce to Cruz or Trump instead.

Back in late September, Ben was sure anxious for others to drop out.
Now, an outside podium or an undercard debate could be in his very near future.

Ben Carson: Candidates with little support, money should drop out
 (Sept. 22)
http://www.cnn.com/2015/09/22/politics/ben-carson-candidates-drop-out/

Republican presidential hopeful Ben Carson agrees with Scott Walker, who pulled the plug on his presidential bid Monday,
in saying there are too many candidates in 2016 Republican primary field.
Carson faced calls to drop out himself from prominent Muslim groups for comments he made over the weekend.
He said Tuesday as long as he has money and support, he will continue his bid.

"My litmus test would be logic," he said.
"Obviously, if you don't have money and you don't have support what the heck are you doing there?"

Those are the guys who blew through $20M, Armstrong Williams was calling for their heads weeks ago.

Bennett says he called Carson around 9:45 this morning to notify the former neurosurgeon of his decision.
He says the presidential hopeful was surprised and asked him to "take the day to think it over," but Bennett told NBC News that his mind was made up.

Williams has been an "ongoing problem since day one," a separate source familiar with the campaign's internal workings said,
adding that the latest struggles in the polls and in fundraising in the last month are "all self-inflicted wounds created by Armstrong Williams."

In a brief phone conversation this afternoon, Williams told NBC News he knew Bennett and Watts "had issues with me" but
held no ill will towards the two aides, and that he had no influence on the shakeup.

EM.
The second coming of Ben Carson LOL

But seriously, it is possible if he really has strong faith and continues to dial up anti-Obama rhetoric that pleases GOP base (and is not playing the game just to cash-in as some Obama supporters have alleged. )

Is AW on the payroll of somebody, to kill the Carson campaign from within? From 2005:
Tribune Media Services will stop distributing columns written by conservative commentator Armstrong Williams because he received money to promote President Bush's education programs, the company said...
Williams confirmed Friday that he received $240,000 from the Department of Education in exchange for promoting No Child Left Behind, the centerpiece of Bush's education agenda.

This is extremely bad from an optics standpoint, as it makes Carson look like he's a puppet rather than a candidate. I'm actually feeling bad for Carson that he got led around like this, I don't know that he's planning on dropping out soon, but his numbers will probably suffer because of this and he may actually fall behind Rand in the polls.

I've been thinking since the beginning of the "Draft Ben Carson" scheme, that when his candidacy concludes, we should perform an autopsy on the "draft" movement and see just who was pulling the strings.

My bet it is people we know,

and despise.
