And the replies reflect what a free society should look like, reasonable people with differing answers on a personal issue that can vary wildly from person to person and family to family.
Would you as a supporter of cannabis introduce your extremely focused academically advanced 15 year old adolescent who is physically fit, a logical thinker, a totally great person with absolutely no evident flaws to cannabis?

This kid is aware of all the issues I feel are relevant. He has been exposed to the corrupt police state and corrupt government. He has been warned that what is presented in school may not be factual. When in 7th grade one of his teachers said he should join a debate team because he always has a valid argument and can withstand the opposition. Obviously this kid has heard all the propaganda regarding pot and knows how I feel about its use. I have never indulged in his presence and he would have no reason to think that on occasion I would. I rarely use it these days and when I do it is with a homemade vape system. I just put a pan on the stove, heat it up, put a glass bottle on top, dump the weed in from the top and viola. The thing is he is real focused on all his academics and is all occupied with good solid activities. He is a runner and swimmer and fascinated with his fitness. He is well liked by everyone and doesn't judge people. I would wonder how a green light to partake in cannabis would affect him. My older brother is a heroin addict and chain smoker. He has probably been addicted to every thing at one point in time. When he was a young adult he caught me with a bag of weed when my parents were away. He thought that was terrible and ratted me out to another brother who ratted me out to the parents. Long story short I introduced him to pot. He ended up dealing pretty large scale weed back in the 70's and even a substantial amount of coke. Guy has been an addict for a long time and has had a rough life. There was a time I had all the illicit drugs for free that I would have ever wanted but after maturing I elected to stay away from many for fear of getting hooked. Every once in awhile I still smoke a little weed. Nowadays I am not sure if the brother is clean or not. Funny thing is that the addict seems baseline sober while using and only gets sick when withdrawing. Hard life on finances and relationships. What would be the benefit for an outstanding 15 year old to use cannabis? Is there more of a risk that the once focused determined driven top of the school individual becomes a pot head with little determination?"Introduce"??
At 15,, if not totally isolated,, they have already been introduced. They have had propaganda pushed on them since at least Kindergarten and most certainly through the media.
Do you mean "educated".??
I have a question.. At what age do you think you should stop lying to your children?
About anything..

I would say be honest with the kids. Pot is by far less harmful than alcohol. And all substances have their uses.
If he is interested,, sit down and burn one with him.. if not,, that's OK too.
Better he learn in a safe environment from someone that cares about him (or her) than from strangers with unknown intent.
In Italy, where 6-year-olds commonly are permitted to drink table wine, there are almost no alcoholics at all.
IMHO the majority of drug addiction is driven by the forbidden-fruit temptation. Remove that, remove most of the problem.

Glad to hear that. It is rare and welcomed.I don't lie to my kids at all.

Italian Youths Who Drink With Meals Are Less Often Adult Problem-Drinkers
ScienceDaily (Aug. 20, 2010) — Italian youths whose parents allowed them to have alcohol with meals while they were growing up are less likely to develop harmful drinking patterns in the future, according to a new study led by a Boston University School of Public Health (BUSPH) researcher.
Adding to legislative efforts to control alcohol consumption is a growing concern about binge drinking among Italian youth that has raised a “social alarm” in the country, said Mr. Giovanardi. In the last 20 years, he said, some 10,000 people under the age of 25 have died from alcohol-related traffic accidents and thousands more have been injured.
“The problem of alcoholism is growing in Italy because we have severed the link between food and drink — now, young people drink to get drunk,” and that creates all sorts of problems for public safety and the proliferation of laws to control the situation, said Edi Sommariva, who is director general of FIPE and a supporter of the E.U. restrictions on sales venues for alcohol.
Alcoholism rates in Italy have tripled since 1996 to the current rate of around 60,000, with just over 10 percent under 29 years of age, said Emanuele Scafato, director of the National Observatory on Alcohol at the National Institute of Health. And even though on paper Italy has an ambitious program to combat alcohol abuse, it is severely underfunded — as opposed to the €169 million, or $243 million, a year invested in advertising in Italy by liquor companies, he said.
Mr. Scafato is part of a national committee that has been lobbying Parliament both to raise the legal drinking age to 18 and to ban the sale of alcohol to minors.
The increase in young drinkers is “something we have never experienced before and that has pressured policy decision makers to do something,” he said.
