Can someone explain what happened in Maine yesterday?

Just for the record, I would like to remind everyone that the GOP is a private organization. None of these primaries/caucuses/votes have anything to do with elections. Its the same thing as going to a PTA meeting and voting. All of this is just a big GOP circle jerk that helps them to decide which horse to run come November. Everything they do is "legal" because none of the votes actually put anyone in a public office. Ron Paul will never be allowed to win anything. My dream is that he sticks around a little while longer to build up the name recognition, then at the convention he announces he's going 3rd party and lets them know that as long as there's a breath in his body, no GOP candidate will win the Presidency again. I Always Win Bitches!
hmmmm

Express your outrage to the man who made this decision and literally prevented Ron Paul from rightfully winning. His name is Charles M. Webster and he is the Maine State Chairman. He can be contacted at [email protected] Ask him to reconsider his decision and let All counties in Maine be counted! Please spread the word!!!!!

Sent a respectful email to Mr. Webster saying if he isn't going to let every caucus count then why have any at all.

I'm with you and so is everyone who has expressed their No One But Paul sentiment. We saw this coming from say four years ago. With me I have witnessed this sort of crap since 1999 when I was working for Nader's campaign. Yeah, I have had a little change of mind since then but the game of the elites is the same.

Paul win = votes not counted
Romney win = they will "patriotically" change their minds and allow votes to be counted

No doubt.

But what I'd like to know is the following:
  • Will there be a caucus in Washington county?
  • If so, will the votes be counted?
  • With regards to the remaining votes (17%), will they be counted?
  • Is Washington county part of the remaining 17%?
  • Who should we inundate with phone calls and e-mails?
  • Should we buy airtime in to GOTV?

Answers.

But what I'd like to know is the following:
  • Will there be a caucus in Washington county? Yes
  • If so, will the votes be counted? Don't know
  • With regards to the remaining votes (17%), will they be counted? Not in the straw poll results
  • Is Washington county part of the remaining 17%? Yes
  • Who should we inundate with phone calls and e-mails?
  • Should we buy airtime in to GOTV?

Also, of the remaining caucuses, they only represented 148 votes in 2008 according to this:

I think RP lost due to shady tactics, but it's the campaign's fault that it was as close as it was. If he was winning by a lot, they wouldn't be able to do anything about it.

Unfortunately, you can't fight pirates in a fair fight.

Everyone seems to think otherwise, which is why the Ron Paul campaign is doomed.

It'll take a revolution to get these vermin off our backs. We wont achieve it with harsh language

Personally, I've given up on any kind of peaceful political solution. It ain't gonna happen......EVER

Maybe it's more that you can't fight fair in a pirate fight. So, let's change tactics and show no fucking mercy. They want to play dirty...well I don't know about you guys, but I say bring it the fuck on. Let's play dirtier, and take some godamn states.

We are playing dirty. It's called delegates, and we're winning.

Agreed. But that's part of the battle. Granted, it's the most important part, but why not pull as many strings as possible to get some of the popular vote to come our way. I seriously think the campaign should start calling them on all of this bullshit. What do we have to lose??? The popular vote? Ummm, we're already losing that, because of them! No, we have nothing to lose. Nothing at all. We can continue our stealth delegate battles without slowing down for a second, so why not take a chance to bring their crimes to light? I'm honestly asking...

Same thing that always happens. GOP strategists cleverly cancelled a key area caucus that was heavily Ron Paul supported, with the impending threat of 1-3" of snow (which never happened). That caucus will be held next week but won't be counted now, and it was probably going to give over 200 for Ron.

Unfortunately those in power in the GOP have been doing this line of work for decades, they know their business and how to outsmart/defeat even the most dedicated supporters.

Sorry, but making up things does not help. The forecast actually called for 6-10 inches of snow...and ICE. And there was a winter travel advisory. Saying how much snow actually fell is irrelevant since they had to postpone it before it started.

Suggesting that people risk their safety (some would have had to drive tens of miles) is crazy.

No to mention...that county had barely 100 people turn out in 2008. So with any inclement weather at all, suggesting that it would have been enough to overcome 194 votes is absurd. Even with twice as many people showing up, Ron Paul would have had to get virtually 100% of the votes (which he wouldn't.)

People REALLY need to get over that stupid snow whining. It makes you look silly.

And no...the National Weather Service, that issues the advisory, is NOT in on the "conspiracy"

an advisory isn't a big deal.

I lived north of Chicago and in days where we got 20+ inches of snow or thereabouts, we tried not to drive much. But 2- 6 inches is just 'bad traffic' and 'ice' is a permanent condition in the winter, pretty much.

we aren't playing dirty, they rigged weird rules to benefit Romney and we are winning at their rigged rules. ARe the rules fair? NO, but if the playing field were level it would be an entirely different game.
