Can someone explain what happened in Maine yesterday?

Yeah, redcoats! trying to stir up armed insurrection too! I'm sure he's going to fly right over with his musket and pitch in.

I don't think the British are allowed to own guns any more. He'd have to bring a steak knife. In a locked box, of course.

Honesty and fairness always loses in the nasty world of corrupt, deceiving, manipulating power of politics.

There are two ways to win. One is to overwhelm them with huge numbers and eject them from power forever. The other with less numbers is to become better than them at their own game of manipulating and deceiving.

Wow..........And I'm guessing that's completely 'legal'?

Just for the record, I would like to remind everyone that the GOP is a private organization. None of these primaries/caucuses/votes have anything to do with elections. Its the same thing as going to a PTA meeting and voting. All of this is just a big GOP circle jerk that helps them to decide which horse to run come November. Everything they do is "legal" because none of the votes actually put anyone in a public office. Ron Paul will never be allowed to win anything. My dream is that he sticks around a little while longer to build up the name recognition, then at the convention he announces he's going 3rd party and lets them know that as long as there's a breath in his body, no GOP candidate will win the Presidency again. I Always Win Bitches!

Actually, I think that is ripe for challenge with the right argument in court. If it can be shown that there are monopolistic practices keeping other parties from starting and creating unacceptable barriers to entry it seems the voting rights act and the Constitution would find these practices repugnant. Now if they violate their own rules we can argue contract with membership.

I agree that is how courts treated this in the past, but in the past independents didn't outnumber the GOP.

It was election fraud, pure and simple. Call the DoJ Public Integrity Section on Monday and make their phones melt! 202-514-1421

Not quite the Constitutional position that the federal Department of Justice should come down on the Maine GOP...

It is the barriers to competition you attack, not the state party. The barriers to third party and independent runs are what should not be there. Then the people themselves could hold the parties accountable.

Or maybe just possibly the delusional optimists pump everyone up with the certain win coming up that when it doesn't happen people think it was stolen.....

you are entitled to your opinion. We are gathering specific actions together though, and they do exist. Clearly we have to make sure our facts are solid before making accusations. It doesn't help to run off half cocked. but for the party to set up 6 new caucuses in 'Romney areas' on one day notice does disservice to the voters and does seem odd, unless someone can show that happens routinely.

No win is ever certain and we knew this one wasn't, but in a hard fought race to have the rules changed right at the end is going to make people angry.

Maine GOP screwed us, but the campaign should have anticipated this, and put in more effort to the point where the Maine GOP couldn't have screwed us without embarassing themselves openly in front of the nation. If we couldn't win Maine, not sure what else we can win now. At least things have gotten slightly better than 2008, but that's it. But we need to keep fighting the good fight and not give up.

Express your outrage to the man who made this decision and literally prevented Ron Paul from rightfully winning. His name is Charles M. Webster and he is the Maine State Chairman. He can be contacted at [email protected] Ask him to reconsider his decision and let All counties in Maine be counted! Please spread the word!!!!!

The establishment GOP thinks if they can just take away our straw poll victory, it will dishearten and demotivate us, and we'll just give up and go away.. we're not going anywhere. We're winning the delegate battle, so keep your chin up, and keep up the good fight all the way to Tampa.

election theft. Ron Paul was going to win so they cancelled a caucus with big support for Ron Paul and they are not going to count the votes when they caucus. The lame excuse was that it was going to snow, but nothing happened and even the girl scouts held an event.

This is an issue for Republicans. Republicans need to address fraud or incompetence in their Party. There will always be disagreements in any organization. If processes or personnel are corrupt, it needs to be fixed from the inside.

"It'll take a revolution to get these vermin off our backs. We wont achieve it with harsh language."

No, the revolution will take place when these people finally retire or croak of old age. Otherwise you die young.
