I keep catching little bits in posts about something that happened in Portland, and as of a few days ago, someone posted that there was some shady stuff going on within the GOP in Maine because they didn't like Ron's stance on Drugs.

It seemed to me we had Maine wrapped up...and on the radio on the way home last night I heard Romney won Maine.

CAn someone explain what happened please? Is this fact or conspiracy?

Same thing that always happens. GOP strategists cleverly cancelled a key area caucus that was heavily Ron Paul supported, with the impending threat of 1-3" of snow (which never happened). That caucus will be held next week but won't be counted now, and it was probably going to give over 200 for Ron.

Unfortunately those in power in the GOP have been doing this line of work for decades, they know their business and how to outsmart/defeat even the most dedicated supporters.

Wow..........And I'm guessing that's completely 'legal'?

Unfortunately, you can't fight pirates in a fair fight.

Everyone seems to think otherwise, which is why the Ron Paul campaign is doomed.

It'll take a revolution to get these vermin off our backs. We wont achieve it with harsh language

Personally, I've given up on any kind of peaceful political solution. It ain't gonna happen......EVER

You're from England?

We are still gathering all the information. Some things that were reported: (1) about six 'new' caucuses were created in Romney areas on one day notice; (2) One large 'supercaucus' was postponed due to snow the girl scouts didn't find troubling for their events which continued as planned (to be honest I don't know if it was a good area for us or not, but they don't plan to count the count in the official numbers when it occurs) and Portland City caucus, which was roughly even between Romney and Paul in the straw vote, but not in delegates, they kept the straw vote but threw out the delegate results as well as the delegate chair (one of our guys) who had the right to appoint people to empty seats -- the Romney folks all left after the straw poll votes and likely all or near all of the 70 delegates there were ours. That was based on there being a difference in either sign in and votes or something (similar to what happened in Nevada).

What I say on that score is were there any similar discrepencies in any Romney dominated areas? Because counting in a group can be sloppy, but if they only scrutinize ones Ron won, and typically shrug or take less draconian measure but didn't here, that would be something.

Now, there are 17% of the vote in Maine caucuses yet to come, and I hope we dominate. Even if the media doesn't report it, I think we would like to have won that state.

If the caucus will be held in the future, wont Ron still win the state? Because for sure, it's going to be a lot more votes for him.

No, the Maine GOP has already stated they will not count those votes.

It was election fraud, pure and simple. Call the DoJ Public Integrity Section on Monday and make their phones melt! 202-514-1421

We didn't convert enough voters to the idea of liberty and barely lost. We had an unbelievable total thought. Ron Paul's ceiling just keeps rising.

Yet Chris gardner, the Washington County GOP chairman was careful to cast some doubt on whether or not this decision was final.
But Washington County GOP Chairman Chris Gardner objected, saying he had known his county's tally wouldn't be included in Saturday's announcement but didn't realize it wouldn't be counted at all. He said he had called state party leaders and "expressed my complete and utter dismay."

Gardner, a Romney supporter, said the snowstorm had left him no choice but to postpone the caucuses.
"Refusal to reconsider under those circumstances would be extremely disheartening," he told The Associated Press. "I trust that the party will make the right decision here."
I suppose it depends on who actually wins.

Paul win = votes not counted
Romney win = they will "patriotically" change their minds and allow votes to be counted

We don't know for sure that he would have won. We could have had even more supporters come out for an overwhelming victory. However, the GOP is an awful organization and we know they always pull crap like that.
