Can police frisk you without your permission?

yes they can

They can also detain you for questioning without arresting you.

It's pretty messed up.

I agree with you guys, but do you have any proof of this?

Since I've read the Police Academy Training Manuals, you're going to have to take my word for it or search the net yourself and look in Constitutional Law books or areas.

They can detain you for questioning and to do so they need to make sure they and you are safe, that's where they get to search you. NEVER say anything to a cop when being questioned, NEVER.

This vid is off topic but take a listen,

They can do whatever they want.

Not saying they all do, but clearly they break the very laws they're entrusted to "uphold", they only get in trouble when they get caught (and even then...paid vacation time!)

They can only pat you down for weapons (to ensure their safety), not for drugs or anything else.

What about when you are stopped for a speeding ticket?
I think then it might actually be good and help you in the long run.

"With due respect officer i refuse to answer questions, but here's my license and registration, proof of insurance."

The Cop might not like your bumper sticker, most of them are Union!

That is an excellent video. You should put it on the video list around here.

Feel free, I was unaware of a "list"

To the OP, tell your friends that he'd be smart to not carry his pipe in his shirt pocket, I can smell that stuff a mile away, so I know the Cop can too.

If you don't give them permission, and you are armed and prepared to die for your right to be secure in yourself and belongings... they can't frisk your live body.

want my answer?

no. they can't touch me without my permission.

i care less what the law says. look me up. they end up charging you with disorderly conduct and obstruction without violence.

yeah they can do whatever they want, but so can you.

I just tell them my name and they go look it up. What is with all this carrying papers?

It's illegal to drive without your license card on your person.
They may just give a warning for that if you didn't do anything else.

I thought the 4th Amendment protects against unlawful searches and seizures.

Then again, who determines what is "unlawful" anyway? That, and according to some interpretations of the Constitution, federal law cannot supercede state law, although it is done every single day in this country. Yet everyone seems to turn a blind eye.

Lesson: know your state laws and how to protect yourself against searches and seizures.

Hmm, how about this. Go ACT suspicious. Then do not concent to being given a body cavity search. Then tell us how well it goes.

This is not the place to draw the line in the sand. Put up with it and rally your forces until we have the strength that we can make a beneficial change for all.
