Campaign releases NEWEST AD!!!! (+$1 million combined buy for next 3 ads)

I mean, its a nice video about two people in the military but as an ad for Ron Paul for president, it misses the mark completely. Ron Paul is seen for about 5 seconds and his name is in there about twice - only once in lettering. If I saw this running and couldn't hear what the ad was about, I'd have no idea who it was for or what it was about.

I agree.

This is the correct strategy to win the Republican primary, which is the primary obstacle to his election. But there is no doubt that issue ads can be powerful as well particularly in the general.

Terrible ad. An ad should always be able to play without sound. You can barely tell this is an ad for Ron Paul. Rookie mistakes abound.
Um, you do know that it is the AUDIO that is the most important, and the rule is it should be effective without the VISUAL. That way it is still effective even if people aren't in the room. I think this ad is perfect, this is what will WIN, not simply pander to the supporters we already have.

If it loudly blairs "RON PAUL RON PAUL" and emphasizes it, many conservatives might go "Whoop, that America-hater Ron Paul is running an advertisement, time to change the channel/stop thinking" whereas with this they see "Those heroes are making me sad and - oh hey, they support Ron Paul, maybe he isn't such a traitor after all"

Amazing ad, will do wonders to help us with the 50+ crowd, which is the demographic that we statistically do the worst with. The fact that it doesn't appeal to some people in the 18-25 crowd who crave visuals is exactly the point. Not every ad can be a cinema-preview type ad. Attracting a 65 year old and a 20 year old are completely different.

Excellent job by the campaign!

I was watching the debate here in NH and of course I avoid ads at all costs but this ad placement caught me at the perfect timing.

I was pleasantly surprised to see this play during Wheel of Fortune on a local channel tonight!
