I don't have time to scrutinize this entire thread. Are we supposed to use the poor quality scan from the OP? Or, did I read something about waiting for official forms to arrive? I'm confused.

use the poor quality scan. Sorry! I am really not very tech savvy, and I've never uploaded a document to the internet before. I could have it scanned and uploaded at Kinkos or something tomorrow, but I printed it out from that link to check and I think it is fine for the purpose. You can use that form according to the instructions in the other link. It needs to be fully filled out and notarized. There will be a blank for the elections official, which is only there because you can use that INSTEAD of a notary, but I don't really expect anyone to use it, so you will just leave that blank.

There were no official forms, they sent me a form that looked like that one but with a huge SAMPLE through all the text and I had to retype it and upload it.

So is the OP version the correct one? With Clyde Coulter as VP? Just curious..what happens if 55 other folks do the same thing but with a different VP listed? Will we see a multiplicity of Ron Paul ticket combinations on the ballot?

I'm trying to get it done fast so that doesn't happen, and we can get the word out. The reason I put the name in was specifically so we didn't get OUR people all filing for different VPs. There was at least one other rumored as having been filed but the Secretary of State said they had received none so I didn't want to wait and see, and miss the deadline myself. But yeah, there theoretically might be a bunch. I can check with the SOS again just before I send these, but I did check before I put the form up.

Once it is filed we will have to spread the word specifically to try to stop duplication.

I don't know if the SOS would accept more than one write in ticket with the same person on it or not. But I don't want there to be NONE.

How sensitive is this elector thing? I mean, should I just be posting this on Facebook, etc? I want to see if I can get some of my friends to be electors, but I don't know if it's wise to be posting this stuff all over the internet.

I think it is ok. I'd rather get it from people people know, but that is why I rented a mail box. We need 55. I can include extras if we get them, just in case some don't pan out.

However, it sounds like people are sending off one here and one there. Before sending mine in, I will double check with the Secretary of State that they don't already have 55 filed for Ron.

When I get my Clyde Coulter one notarized, what do I do with it?

Good point about the name accuracy.

It might be interesting to check with the Registrar of Voters and see how my ballets have been recorded in the past. I've often thought of doing it.

Perhaps, I am a bit confused, the document to be notarized includes an “Oath of Office”, surely we are not intended to sign under that are we?

Does seem kind of freaky at first. Could perhaps lead to feeling compelled in some way...


but anyway the way the form reads that is the part that needs to be filled out and notarized. Wait and sign it when the notary can witness your signature. Also they will need some kind of identification.
 
Yes Weston, as electors we do need to take an oath of office. The notary is attesting that you signed the oath!

Yes, they are still needed. Note that I have heard of other efforts but when I emailed the Secretary of State's office no other declaration of electors had been filed. I will call before I file the forms to double check that 55 electors haven't already been received with a different VP name.

As to his name, I'm pretty sure I read you can write his name and it stands for the whole ticket you do not need to write in the VP. I will look that up tomorrow, to double check, but I'm pretty certain I read that when I looked into it. I would write in only Ron's name if that is the case.
