WE HAVE TO GET THESE TICKETS BOUGHT UP ASAP

The South Carolina Republican Party has partnered with FOX News Channel to present a live, nationally-televised Republican Party presidential candidates debate on Thursday, January 10, 2008, in historic Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. The debate will be held at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center.

Remember how important these debates are. We need to have a strong presence. Anyone in South Carolina or willing to make the trip should buy tickets. The more Ron Paul supporters in the building, the better!

Information on purchasing tickets is available at this website: http://www.scgop.com/Calendar/Detail.aspx?EventID=8500

Also, anyone in the SC area should sign up at http://luntz.com/ for Frank Luntz's study groups.

It appears that to buy tickets, one must contact Senior Finance Director Sunny Philips at [email protected]

The South Carolina Republican Party phone: 803-988-8440

The Presidential Debates: Frequently asked questions

It looks like the South Carolina GOP is selling their alloted tickets

Now that the dates for the two presidential debates have been nailed down – Jan. 10 for the Republicans, followed by the Democrats on Jan. 21 – you might be wondering how you can attend.

The answer is, you probably can’t, unless you have friends in the state Republican Party or the U.S. Congressional Black Caucus Institute. No tickets will be available for the public.

“Most debates are invitation only,” said Amie Lee, executive project coordinator with the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce.

Who issues the invitations?

The two sponsoring entities, the state Republicans for the Republican debate and the Congressional Black Caucus for the Democrats, control the majority of the invitations, Lee said. Other groups attached to the debates, such as the networks (Fox News for the Republicans, CNN for the Democrats), will also be allocated tickets, Lee said.

Will the volunteers be able attend?

Not necessarily, Lee said.

“We need tons of volunteers to make this thing run smoothly, but unfortunately that does not promise a ticket into the debate,” Lee said.

Much of the volunteer work will take place prior to the debates or off site, such as stuffing welcome bags to working as volunteer concierges at area hotels, Lee said. Another big need will be helping place directional signs for visitors all over town, and picking them afterward, Lee said.

How can I volunteer?

Call local volunteer coordinating organization Step Up!, (843) 349-6488, or go to www.myrtlebeachpresidentialdebates.com. That site is a portal to detailed information on both debates, Lee said, and also has an online sign-up form for volunteers.

Who will moderate the debates?

The networks are still making the final decision, Lee said, but Fox’s Brit Hume has been discussed for the Republicans, and CNN’s Wolf Blitzer for the Democrats.

ok, i called the number....im going!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

$150 for tickets

there is a dinner the night before for 75$ that i am not going to...and a lunch the day of the debate for 50$ which i am not going to either.

If anybody at any time asks who you support I strongly urge you to lie or declare you're undecided to make absolutely sure we take over the audotorium. We know fox are capable of sneaky tricks but once you're inside they can't stop people cheering Paul and booing any neocon bullshit.

I'm still waiting for the historic moment when, in the lions den, somebody like Gulianni declares we MUST FIGHT TERROR and all he hears echoing back at him from the thousands in the crowd is a pure, undiluted boooooooooooooo broadcast live to the millions watching and finally making it impossible to spin public sentiment any which way but the truth.

I will be traveling from NC, and plan on getting there early and sign waving all day, so hopefully SC meetup groups can at least give us a strong presence outside...but im sure we will! :)

If anyone not from the NC SC area has the money they should buy the tickets and give them to local RP supporters
