Just heard a report he is challenging the FED over AIG, fox business channel said he was making a motion to END THE FED. Need a youtube of this.

For the first time, I'm actually proud of my senator today! Go get em Jim! I need to call his office and thank him.

I just sent his office a "thank you" email for publicly decrying the Fed.

Bunning Challenges Fed Authority To Bailout AIG

Introduces Bill To Strip Fed Of Powers

Washington, DC
Wednesday, September 17, 2008

U.S. Senator Jim Bunning today issued the following statement on the heels of the Fed bailout of American Insurance Group (AIG) that was announced last night. Bunning also introduced legislation to strip the Federal Reserve of the authority to use taxpayer dollars to bail out unregulated companies like AIG in the future.

"Once again the Fed has put the taxpayers on the hook for billions of dollars to bail out an institution that put greed ahead of responsibility and used their good name to take risky bets that did not pay off. The only difference between what the Fed did and what Hugo Chavez is doing in Venezuela is Chavez doesn’t put taxpayer dollars at risk when he takes over companies – he just takes them.

"Secretary Paulson and Chairman Bernanke did the right thing by refusing to bail out Lehman Brothers over the weekend. Yet less than two days after drawing that line in the sand, Chairman Bernanke, with the full blessing of Secretary Paulson, announced the takeover of AIG. To say I am outraged by this would be an understatement. The greed on Wall Street is only exceeded by the stupidity of the Treasury Secretary and the Chairman of the Federal Reserve.

"I have said on more than one occasion that I don’t think the Federal Reserve can handle the powers they have and this irresponsible bailout just proves my point. As a result I have decided to do the Fed a favor and relieve them of some of their power by introducing a bill to take away their authority to make loans to non-banks, a power that prior to the bailout of Bear Stearns had not been used since the Great Depression."

Wow, is this something new? Has Bunning been enlightened?

Either way, I'm thrilled to hear a senator making noise about the fed.

Well, I know Rand Paul lives and works here in KY... so maybe he's "waking" people up! Awesome! -Tyler

Bunning is my senator, and even though he's going after the FED, he's still a neo-con. His position on the war, civil liberties, etc., are disgustingly socialistic. I've written him and called his office on a number of civil liberties-related issues, particularly in the Congress, and he always writes back "Thank you for your input, but I really couldn't care less. [Insert issue] is vital to our national security and our winning the war on terror."

I've never voted for him, and I certainly don't plan to in the future.

In my thank you note, I included the words ON THIS ISSUE. :D We're not blind. He's my senator, as well.

Here is a couple of issues I've agreed with him on in the past.
He doesn't support Amnesty. S. 2368 the Save Act
He believes in keeping our sovereignty from the United Nations and others. (LOST treaty)

Truth,

I know :) I saw the "On this issue" in caps. Btw, I did just send him an email thanking him for standing up to the FED, and I urged him to research the history of it.

I know he's done some good things, and I'll give him credit for that.

It's unfortunate that you don't understand how much more important this issue than any other issue. If we don't take care of the bankrupcy of this country and abolishment of the free market nothing else will matter cause we will have no country. It would be nice if Bunning opposed the war, but it pails in comparision to the financial situation facing this nation. It is the shame the financial illiteracy in the country includes many Ron Paul followers.

Did the same, asking him to talk to my reps about it since I've written them and never recieved a reply. I also included a couple of quotes concerning 'vipers' and "children waking up homeless". ;)

Well, Ill tell you something.. if he *WAS* a neocon, hes not anymore.

The fed is the head of the serpent that allows the neocon machine to work its dastardly deeds.. No true sincere neocon would even want to bring attention to the fed, let along introduce a bill to strip the fed of powers

America is watching us people. This is more proof.

We are having an impact
