Bunning is attacking the FED.

What about the $116 BILLION total given to JP Morgan this year!

Is the country forgetting about this because, AIG is a wash and lost already and JP Morgan is not.

$116 Billion > $85 Billion

$201 BILLION between the 2 Co's

It's becoming obvious that "our" next president will rely on subsidies and nationalization to calm the populace. Banks will be nationalize then, once inflation drives up the price of oil again, the oil companies will be nationalized. All of this, of course, will be described as "market failures", hence the nationalization of industries.

It's unfortunate that you don't understand how much more important this issue than any other issue. If we don't take care of the bankrupcy of this country and abolishment of the free market nothing else will matter cause we will have no country. It would be nice if Bunning opposed the war, but it pails in comparision to the financial situation facing this nation. It is the shame the financial illiteracy in the country includes many Ron Paul followers.

Indy,

The difference between you and I is that I place human life as being more important than economics or financial issues. Unjust wars and the accompanying murder of nearly 1,000,000 foreigners is a much graver moral issue than the financial situation facing this nation. And let's not forget the spending involved with this war has helped push us to this financial "situation" much further, much quicker than would otherwise have happened.

Secondly, I am well schooled on the economic issue, the Federal Reserve, it's history, Fractional Reserve lending, etc. I have a conscience, and I will not compromise it by endorsing murder.

Just heard a report he is challenging the FED over AIG, fox business channel said he was making a motion to END THE FED. Need a youtube of this.

I like the stand he is taking on the Fed, but he just wants to remove the recent power they were granted. He needs to actually promote getting rid of the Fed.

However, he has it all wrong with Iraq. Also, unfortunately, he does not understand Privacy and the Constitution. He was full of praise for the FISA bill that passed, complementing Rockerfeller and Bond for their efforts.

Its more than THAT.. JP MORGAN got $87 BILLION Just yesterday.. (after hours) to help facilitate transactions with Lehman...

all totaled for yesterday was $242 BILLION IN new money created

step up to the plate!

About time another in the Congress stood up to the plate about our manipulative, corporate-rearkissing banking system! Hopefully more will catch on...

Of course, Senators Stabenow and Levin (nor will my congresswoman Candice Miller) aren't going to go along. (and neither will the big two candidates for Prez-besides, McFlipFlopper now claims the bailout was "totally necessary" even though he was (supposedly) against it at first.)

all totaled for yesterday was $242 BILLION IN new money created
...as a result, gold, silver, oil, and pretty much all commodities are roaring back up and the dollar plunging...all of that crap the Fed pulled in the name of saving AIG was for NO REASON (despite what the mainstream media and politicians want us to believe).

Since when the hell does the FED have the authority to bail out INSURANCE COMPANIES?
Last I checked, AIG isn't an investment bank-or any kind of bank for that matter.

I'm sure all the mainstream media pundits will be harping on how we'll have another Great Depression or total apocalypse if AIG wasn't bailed out-just like with Bear Stearns and Freddie and Fannie.

I will post the same response I have posted to this comment before. 67% of the country is against the war... the war will end soon. 67% of this country is completely financially illiterate, and 2/3 of the remaining is somewhat financial illiterate... 1/2 of the financial literate are elitists... that leaves about 5% that understand the financial issues surrounding this country and our on the side of the truth.... that's why it is so important when someone does stand up like this... we support him, regardless of his other problems. Ever heard of follow the money... war doesn't happen without people being in the dark about the financial policies in this country... it we stop these policies, namely the fed... we stop the war machine and everything else you hate.

What you say is true, to a point. However, I cannot vote into office an individual who has vowed to use his position of influence and power to murder people. I would share in his moral guilt by that action. The end does not justify the means.

sent, along with suggestions for "baby steps" including stripping the Fed of its ability to meet in secret. i applaud the Senator for doing this, even if he is NOT a civil libertarian.

I wonder if Bunning was one of the politicians Paul was referring to on Beck today when talking about people meeting him in secret telling him he was right.

True, and it is very simple to see if you look at the big picture that without an endless supply of money, most likely wars won't happen without reason(other than to steal liberties and wealth from the populous).
