Here are the steps for what I have been doing recently, let me know what you think and if you have any ideas for improving it.
1) Instead of buying my materials in piecemeal quantities I bulk buy everything. For example tonight I ordered another 1000 bumper stickers. It winds up being $.11 per full sized quality bumper sticker from my source (www.ronpaulbumperstickers.com).
2) You can media mail 100 full sized bumper stickers to Ron Paul volunteers anywhere in the country for about $3. Keep in mind there are specific requirements for media maling, go to USPS (http://postcalc.usps.gov/) and select Package. See the ? question mark for details.
3) Purchase mailing supplies that can fit 100 bumper stickers and meet media mailing requirements.
4) Go on Craigslist, meet up forums, etc. and post ads about giving away 100 bumper stickers for free. Be prepared to have your posts deleted on Craigslist, there are people who will flag any Ron Paul call to action ad. Especially if you put the ad up in Free Stuff. The thing is though by the time they delete your ad you already have received 2-3 replies! Thats 200-300 bumper stickers distributed. Do this multiple times in a day. Use proxies if you are afraid of getting booted. Pretty soon you will have gotten a list of mailing addresses to send all 1000 to.
5) Include with the stickers a printed paper which mentions ideas for distributing the individual stickers. Also mention that they should get people to help them, and that when they use all the stickers they should consider buying 1000 themselves and doing the same thing.
6) I don't know USPS policy on this, but with Media Mailing you aren't allowed to send advertisements. These might count as advertisements. Don't mention they are bumper stickers to the USPS people! I don't know the basis for that policy, I don't know if bumper stickers apply, I don't want to take the risk of having to pay a lot more to mail them. Media mail pound for pound is the cheapest way to send small items.
So that's it, I just started doing it. Let me know if you do something like this and have suggestions on how to improve it.
