Bulk buy, bulk distribute

Here are the steps for what I have been doing recently, let me know what you think and if you have any ideas for improving it.

1) Instead of buying my materials in piecemeal quantities I bulk buy everything. For example tonight I ordered another 1000 bumper stickers. It winds up being $.11 per full sized quality bumper sticker from my source (www.ronpaulbumperstickers.com).

2) You can media mail 100 full sized bumper stickers to Ron Paul volunteers anywhere in the country for about $3. Keep in mind there are specific requirements for media maling, go to USPS (http://postcalc.usps.gov/) and select Package. See the ? question mark for details.

3) Purchase mailing supplies that can fit 100 bumper stickers and meet media mailing requirements.

4) Go on Craigslist, meet up forums, etc. and post ads about giving away 100 bumper stickers for free. Be prepared to have your posts deleted on Craigslist, there are people who will flag any Ron Paul call to action ad. Especially if you put the ad up in Free Stuff. The thing is though by the time they delete your ad you already have received 2-3 replies! Thats 200-300 bumper stickers distributed. Do this multiple times in a day. Use proxies if you are afraid of getting booted. Pretty soon you will have gotten a list of mailing addresses to send all 1000 to.

5) Include with the stickers a printed paper which mentions ideas for distributing the individual stickers. Also mention that they should get people to help them, and that when they use all the stickers they should consider buying 1000 themselves and doing the same thing.

6) I don't know USPS policy on this, but with Media Mailing you aren't allowed to send advertisements. These might count as advertisements. Don't mention they are bumper stickers to the USPS people! I don't know the basis for that policy, I don't know if bumper stickers apply, I don't want to take the risk of having to pay a lot more to mail them. Media mail pound for pound is the cheapest way to send small items.

So that's it, I just started doing it. Let me know if you do something like this and have suggestions on how to improve it.

Great

I can give you my perspective, from an ardent RP supporter who is on a fixed income. The good thing is I have all day (and night) to spread the word.
I have called the RP HQ twice, once the never called back, the second time they had a paid female staffer who was very nice and said she would have them send some small items for me. I know they are busy and conserving cash.
I have given as much as possible. Then went to the official store and bought more stuff, then print cartridges and now DVDs to burn
Getting some of the essential supplies to people who can spread them around
will be our greatest tool.
What you described is excellent to try to get them to the more active and less supplied volunteers. Bumper stickers, yard signs and slim jims etc...
Even prepaid cards for office depot or others.

Many Thanks, TP

Maybe handing them out on the streets or something would be better? You can't be too careful with people online at craigslist.

We've been doing this on an even larger scale. Yard and pole signs, stickers, pins, pens, hats, shirts, beach balls, and lit. We've given all of it to the local meetups for free. We can get out about 60 signs ourselves in a week. But by giving signs to the Meetup members, we can get out a few hundred in one or two days, and cover a wider area.

I don't like to mail stuff to strangers though. Too many opportunities for non-supporters to screw with us. I've mailed stuff to a few people here, but I don't even like doing that.

Thanks for the plug!

On the matter of the USPS media mail: I checked into that and unfortunately political items don't qualify.

When looking for Ron Paul promo items please remember we are the source for the lowest priced, highest quality Ron Paul materials found anywhere, on or off the 'net.

.

Sorry, but why would I media mail for $3 when I can priority mail for $4.60??

first class

First class is an option not sure how many bumper stickers are in a pound. But first class goes up to 13 ounces.
