I feel like it is a lose-lose situation. 1 nuke will take out an entire carrier group and I highly doubt Russia would allow NATO the luxury of having ships parked in the area to carry out air strikes.

Russia and China are still building up their militaries. They aren't ready for war. On the other hand, the US military is at its weakest in decades, but Trump is building it up again. The time to strike us is now. Both sides know that war will eventually come, and all know that China's fate is tied to Russia's. If Russia is defeated, China is cornered. Russia will not back down over Syria. If Putin doesn't come out of this with at least a strategic wash, he will escalate the conflict until he does.

This is huge blunder by Trumpster. He was supposed to MAGA and put "America First"... how does this do that? Or is he just another political slave of neocons like last dgp?

Supposedly this was coordinated with Russia and made sure no Russians were on airfield. Was this another 'wag the dog' to distract attention from Kushner -Bannon infighting like Hillary's man had bombed an aspirin factory in Sudan at the peak of Monica sex scandal?

Or is this aimed at getting favorable coverage from neocons at WaPo, NYT, MSNBC, ABC, CBS ?

In any case, to minimize risks of any potential blowback... all laptops, phones, shoes etc should be banned from all refugees flights coming in from Syria and neighboring/European countries.

I doubt that factored into the decision, but it could be a great unintended consequence. Where do you get her polling at 47%? The latest poll on wikipedia has her at 40 to Macron's 60. Fillon won't make the second round, if that's what you're talking about.
