Breaking up with my GF over election (and general hopelessness)

Some of you are taking this thread way too seriously.

I've only been with my girlfriend for two months, and we're in our early twenties. It's not like we're married with children.

Well two months isn't all that serious (shrugs)

that would be an interesting excuse to break up with someone.

Failure to vote for Ron Paul official reason.

Unfortunately my fiancee is Bahamian and can't vote here. But if she could she would have voted Ron Paul/Chuck Baldwin! :D

wrong. I've been here from the start actually and all over this place from the beginning women were treated as inferiors well guess what!

Want to know who gave Ron Paul the idea to put up the donation ticker? A woman. Me.

This movement needs to be more inclusive of females in the future because all of this putting down women shit is old.

I like Ron Paul but if you want a real revolution, women need to be included as valid supporters and not just objects to use where the males see fit.

For example, dating threads in Ron Paul forums. That was funny. Ill treatment of females, that wasn't funny.

Original poster, if I were your girlfriend, I'd dump you first.

+-effing-1.

I've been dating my girlfriend for two months and we have a pretty damn good relationship. When we met, she knew little about politics but planned on voting for Obama because she gets federal student aid and wants it to continue.

I gave her a pretty good education on politics and libertarianism over the last two months.

I just talked to her on the phone and recommended she vote for the LP for statewide offices. She refused, plans on voting dem even though she knows not a damn thing about them.

Then I found out she is voting Obama.

I told her that she is basically hiring someone to steal money from me and use it to kill muslims.

We got in a fight.

I think I'm going to break up with her.

If I can't even convince someone who respects and admires me about the virtues of liberty, how can i ever hope to convince a stranger?

Talk politics with you buddies or here; develop some tolerance, not all couples agree on everything. Patience will be your friend, with the clusterf*ck that is heading our way: you will be the one who says, 'I told you so...'

Where did I say all women? Go out and ask 50 20-30 something women you know about anything that we stand for and they will for the most part tell you they don't care about that stuff.

Want to know who gave Ron Paul the idea to put up the donation ticker? A woman. Me.

No relevance to the subject at hand.

True, but the same thing can be said about 20-30 year old men.

Maybe 1 out of 50 guys care about what we stand for and 1 out of 100 women care about it.

Anyway, at that ratio it's not gonna be easy for us to take back our country, (or for me to find a new girlfriend :D) (were you really joking Holly? ;) )

If you leave a hot chick over something as pointless as a vote, you are either 1) stupid as hell or 2) a closet homosexual.

If she's not hot, on the other hand, dump away...

Wow, you got me, I'm a Star Wars "Nerk" because I refuse to put my trust in somebody that would vote against freedom and liberty.

Great argument there(Not Really), but how can they be the love of our lives if they don't agree on the most important things to us?

You have no clue about what age we are, how successful in business and how successful our personal lives are to pass judgement on any of us. Perhaps you don't have the virtue or morality to be strong enough to draw a line in the sand and surround yourself with like minded liberty lovers, perhaps you HAVE to settle in this manner, perhaps you are just too much a weak willed individual lacking the spirit to maintain that morality and virtue means. There is no compromise in this.

There's no age requirement to join the RP Circle Jerk. But you still don't see my point (whatever your age). And this is how you spell "judgment". Didn't mean to offend Star Wars or Ron Paul in my post. I like Star Trek (the original), in fact. But this obsessive attitude with strict adherence to any ideology to the harm of your girlfriend, wife, friends, whomever, is just immature. How would you rather I say it?

For me, I have no friends who are Ron Paul supporters. I do have one friend I've been educating on the FED, the CFR, and investing in gold and we get along great. I don't know how he voted, though I do know it wasn't for Mac or Barry because he's told me they both worried him. But I repeat, I have NO personal friends who are Ron Paul supporters. To all my friends and acquaintances, I am the first who has explained constitutional government. Now, if I demanded such "allegiance" from everyone I know, I would basically be a hermit. And I'd have no one to educate about this important message that seems to have been lost in time.

If you see there is "no compromise" in this, you understand little about the world. I just want to say a big thank you here to the ladies who support Ron Paul's message. Not all of us realize how important you are to the cause but we are getting there. So apologies, thanks and please stick with us lug-heads. We are "getting there"!

Anyone who thinks it's wrong to extracate someone with differing political views from your life never had someone you were married to or with for years tell you that if your guns were banned, they would turn you in.

Let's see - you can stay with a woman like that out of fear that someone on the RonPaulForums says you are gay - but then you get turned in by your wife or GF for not handing your guns over to the state and you go to prison and find yourself in a (bent) position repeating to yourself "it's not gay if you don't like it..."

Yeah. What a choice.

This is reflected in the kind of social commentary that George Romero would touch upon in his "dead" films about zombies.

But rather than me explain it, can any of you figure out what I refer to when I bring up Romero's films in the context of this topic?

The conclusion will be interesting and you will come away from this thread with a little light bulb over your head.

Good. Break up.

Did you end up going to that brothel, with your friend? just wondering

If you're serious then you need to rethink your life. Breaking up with somebody because they voted for Obama is hilariously stupid.
Right, because liberty isn't that important.

You're a .... dude. It's extremists like you that make this movement seem like it's not even worth it.
You're a compromiser, that keeps movements like this from being successful.

So you're resigning to the task of finding a girl in the <1% of America that fits your political views AND is attracted to you AND single?

That's sexual suicide.
There are always hookers. LIBERTY!

And you guys wonder why more women aren't in this movement. Here's a hint -- don't call women "hoes".
Seems to work miracles for rappers. They are covered in women

Hmm... All I can think of is how the zombies in the movies were numerous, and always trying to bring down the live (free?) few humans that were around, turning them into zombies as well. I'm sure there is much more to it, would love to be enlightened :)

staying with a woman for too long can be bad for your health. It is good to get a new one every 1-3 years no matter their political beliefs

I am due for an upgrade anytime now.

Usually by year 3 most of the mask has come off.
The dance of the seven veils.

The first veil to come off is around the waste... the last to come off is around the face.
A very symbolic dance.
