I live in Texas. Perry is doing the right thing by staying in this state in light of the fires. Anything else would have been branded totally irresponsible.

Perry being there or not isn't going to do shit to stop those fires. If anything, his being there will result in political pressures on those doing the actual work and cause them to get worse.

3 pm EST today is your chance to learn a lot more about GOP presidential candidates, with the exception of Rick Perry, who has decided to keep his views under wrap a while longer under the pretext of fighting TX wildfires. (does my cynicism show too much?) I understand CNN will also be carrying it.

I think out of everyone left, Paul is going to absolutely stomp the competition, especially with having enough time to actually explain his answers. Now this should get him some attention. And if everything works out right come Wednesday, he should have a chance to school Perry on his record.

Honestly, I can't see what he can do in regards to the fires if the National Guard aren't needed. .

I don't know what criteria DeMint uses for his endorsement, but if he uses his forum to help make that decision, I think Paul could stand a good chance of picking up his endorsement.

Yeah... I'm in Texas and we have been under drought conditions for months. And these fires have been going on for weeks. Where was Dick Parrot weeks ago.

They've intensified in recent days. I was driving from Austin back to Houston yesterday and saw a massive fire near Bastrop. I got home and checked the news this morning and it had destroyed 300 homes.
