Breaking News: Kelly Clarkson endorses Ron Paul!

People are wasting money by supporting Kelly Clarkson simply for liking Ron Paul. Give that money to the campaign. Kelly Clarkson is likely to change her mind once the right pressure is applied.

Kelly Clarkson could be quite all right.

On May 18, 2008, Clarkson performed on stage at the Academy of Country Music Awards All-Star Jam with Reba McEntire and Ronnie Dunn of Brooks and Dunn.[68] The All-Star jam is the final event of the week taking place immediately after the awards show. Clarkson was not announced ahead of time for an appearance.

"Already Gone" sparked another conflict between Clarkson and her label. There was a widely reported scandal with the album's third single, which Clarkson wrote with OneRepublic's Ryan Tedder. Many critics had noticed that the backing track and style of the song sounded similar to Beyoncé's "Halo". After becoming aware of the comparisons, Clarkson did not want to release the song out of respect for Beyoncé, instead requesting release for a self-penned song, "Cry", which later hailed extremely positive reviews, most notably from the BBC.[73] However, her record company refused, publishing "Already Gone" against Clarkson's wishes. In response to the entire fiasco, Clarkson penned a song called "Wash Rinse Repeat" in which she states her view on the lack of creativity record labels give their artists; it is widely believed the song is an attack on Ryan Tedder.

I'm not really a big fan of radio songs, but both Kelly Clarkson and Michelle Branch are both really good singers and really likeable.

I agree. The pressure will be Game 7 like, but Kelly has a bit of a reputation for giving the finger to the establishment. If she can make it past this initial wave, I think we've got a real supporter!

We should be doing things to bring her in. Money is always good. Have her in Des Moines. Video her with a $300 hx9v (I have one, 1080p60p said to be a great "run and gun" video camera) and/or a nice dslr depending on the application. Edit it. Put the video on SNL if there are funny moments to be found. Maybe. Or just put it on youtube. It's win. Someone should pay money to make that happen.

hah, welp add Kelly Clarkson to the ever growing list of people I used to hate but found common ground with via Ron Paul

That newsletter nonsense seems to have spread and stuck in quite a few people's heads. A lot of comments painting Ron as an old white man racist isolationist kook, etc...typical MSM talking points. Ugh. But it's great for Kelly to come out and endorse Ron like that...however, she could've left out the last sentence.

I would guess most of those people would not support Ron Paul anyway and just have a different argument if there was no newsletters.

2,892,683 as of 2 minutes ago if anyone wants to track the likes. Seems to be getting a lot of hate from a lot of ignorant people claiming she's the ignorant one for not realizing that all republicans are racists and homophobes

come on there are bigger things going on than this...

Kelly Clarkson is a HUGE celebrity. American Idol was the #1 TV show in America for 7 years straight, which is a record, and she was the winner of the very first season. I'm glad there were lots of people here that showed her support and educated her on some of the falsehoods that were being sent her way. We need to show these celebrities that if they speak out for liberty and Ron Paul they will have lots of support. There are probably lots more celebrities out there that support Ron Paul but are afraid to speak, such as Michelle Branch who only spoke up for Ron Paul after she saw Kelly Clarkson do it. Hopefully Kelly will not back down more from her support and this will help turn the tide for more celebrities endorsements.

Nice to see. I think Asher Roth supports Ron Paul as well. I know he's taken a shot at Obama before in past raps, and Paul is the only candidate he follows on twitter. Would be nice to see something to come from him, especially with his Jewish background it could be helpful.

Interesting. I've never heard of him before but he has 346,000 followers on twitter so he must be pretty popular. Here is his account:

He does indeed follow Ron Paul. I searched topsy.com to see if he tweeted anything about Ron Paul in the past but it came up negative.

It is like a miracle to be honest the timing of all this. Just when Paul needs it the most and America is on the brink of total collapse things seem to be falling into place now. This is it, now or never for the USA. If Ron Paul does not become the next president then this nation is history. I will be leaving it, I am not going to wait around for the goon squad to come take me to a "re-education" camp. I will leave this God forsaken nation before the wrath of God comes on it if Ron Paul loses.

Michelle Branch actually tweeted something about Ron Paul back in April but she deleted it for some reason. Jesse in her tweet is referring to Jesse Ventura.

michellebranch Michelle Branch
@adamlevine I was listening to Jesse on @howardstern this morning and thinking the same thing. If he and Ron Paul ran together it would rule

I get the feeling she is very hesitant to show support for Ron Paul for fear of offending her fans, that is why she deleted it.

I agree. All publicity is good publicity. We need to back her up on this, otherwise all her followers will come away with the opinion that Ron Paul is actually a racist and/or homophobe when we all know that isn't the case.

Man she's getting all out attacked she needs help guys. We don't want her to take it back because of the misinformation that her progressive followers are spewing. We can't have celebrities afraid to come out for paul we need maximum exposure, and can't have this pollitical terrorism keep paulites from expressing there love for dr. Paul.

"I support gay rights, straight rights, women’s rights, men’s rights, white/black/purple/orange rights." (from the site) or as I guess Ron Paul would have said "I support all humans right to freedom" to bad more people do not understand that.

I think it's in the grassroots best interest to thank Clarkson, Michelle Branch, Asher Roth, et al who are wanting to support Paul.

The more love they see, the better off they will be... Might also be a good time for some of us hard-working ones to send them some Ron Paul literature, etc.

More and more profiled people will express their opinions if they see it's the right thing to do... Unfortunately, that's how the cookie crumbles.
