Breaking News: Kelly Clarkson endorses Ron Paul!

hope you get around to the donation page ... remember , step back a few years in your life , before you saw the light , be polite and tactful ... Humor and thoughtful ... you can change minds ... some may finally get it now or a year from now ... be patient and think what would Ron say ( or find a quote or video to say it for you )
Good point. We can't win hearts and minds if we don't act calm and respectful. By the way, I can't believe we have the same quote in our sigs! Lol. I have actually had it in my sig since I joined.

You guys want more female voters? Here's an opportunity.

I'm not much for pop music, but I did watch the first season of American Idol with my niece & nephew, and she seems like a very nice, intelligent and kind person. She's also quite talented--and popular among regular people. So you guys, try to take off your libertarian "creep" hats, and do the right thing. She always seemed pretty conservative to me, in an intelligent way. And she's defending herself well, so don't be condescending--be supportive. I'll probably resuscitate my twitter account for this reason only.

I donated my creep hat to Danke, years ago, when he lost his in the Wal Marx parking lot.

Oh yea, Michelle Branch netted about 150 followers in the last hour or so. Not bad, tomorrow ill see if there is a song by her that i like, and i will pay for a download. I like a different type of music but i sure she has some decent acoustic stuff. Either way, She seems pretty hot.

Her biggest hits I think:

So, i'm supposed to agree with her stating Ron 'probably' won't get the nomination? makes me question those who are rushing to support this statement. Ban worthy?...yes, all of you who think Ron won't get nominated should be banned.....imho.

Oh please. you know damn well that's not why people took issue with your post that was rude, crude, and vicious in regards to someone that just supported Ron Paul.

It's fine to take issue with someone who says he's not going to get nominated. It's quite another to insult them in an incredibly derogatory way.

EDITED TO ADD: I see you also gave me negative rep for telling you calling her derogatory names on a public forum after she just came out and endorsed Ron Paul is inappropriate. You're a class act.

Very brave of these two ladies to stand up for principles and Ron Paul. We should just thank them now and move on. They will not be in a position tomorrow to continue this discussion.

When people bring up the homophobic nonsense, just send them to this blog post: http://ricksincerethoughts.blogspot.com/2008/01/question-was-answered-six-years-ago.html
Let me speak from my own experience as someone who has met Dr. Paul on several occasions, all of which were characterized by civility, politesse, and good humor. I have never seen any evidence from Ron Paul the man that he has a hateful thought or possesses an animus against any group or individual. He, like most libertarians, is focused on ideas, ideas principally aimed at promoting human dignity, individual liberty, and personal responsibility.

Nearly fifteen years ago, I was running for the Virginia House of Delegates (in the 49th District, then completely within Arlington County, one of the most heavily Democratic and liberal districts in the state).

The campaign took place during the period that, according to Kirchick, "Ron Paul" was making derogatory, anti-gay remarks in "his" newsletters. As it happens, I was running as an openly-gay candidate for the Virginia General Assembly. (It was my second run for that office after a previous attempt in a special election in January 1991. The same district currently has an openly-gay Democrat representing it in Richmond.)

During that 1993 campaign, Ron Paul issued a letter on my behalf, soliciting funds from libertarians and votes from constituents. (We sent the letter to both groups.) Dr. Paul (then a former Congressman) was aware I was running as an openly-gay candidate and he raised no questions, concerns, or objections. I hardly think a homophobic bigot would have sent out a fundraising letter over his own signature, endorsing (as the Washington Times stylebook would have it) an "avowed homosexual" for public office.

Did Ron Paul exercise poor judgment in allowing others to publish badly-written newsletter articles under his name? Yes -- and that is something that he acknowledged more than a decade ago, and quite explicitly in that 2001 Texas Monthly article. He has taken responsibility for his error, owned up to it, and did not even beg for forgiveness. In fact, he has reacted to this smear attempt in a cool, evenhanded, and direct manner.

Should dispel any of those ridiculous claims. Sometimes I think Washington doesn't deserve Ron Paul. Too good of a man to be throw into such a cesspool and be called these names.

Nice!!! I just liked Kelly's facebook page, followed her and Branch, and tweeted Kelly. Let's hope this onslaught dies down soon and we kind people can get her ear!

Maybe we could get her and some of the other celebrities to fund the new RevPAC ad?

More like, we should be paying them. We want more Kelly Clarkson action, right? We want Kelly Clarkson to appear at, perform at various Ron Paul events?
Michelle Branch too? We want Kelly Clarkson and/or Michelle Branch tweeting about the level of excitement surrounding Ron Paul, and what a great time she's having just hanging out at House of Bricks and/or Jillian's or anywhere else. Maybe she'll go up and sing a song with the band, or whatever. She now believes, seeing what she just saw, that Ron Paul definitely can win. And more rock star celebs would follow. I can tell you from personal experience that some musicians are shy about expressing their support of Ron Paul. Not all, of course, there certainly are quite a few musician supporters of Ron Paul, but it would be great just to have the floodgates open, and top quality acts of all types just dying to play. If you can get Kelly Clarkson and Michelle Branch to be in Des Moines on January 3, it seems like a good thing to do.

And you might have to pay to make that happen. Not the other way around.
