Breaking News: Kelly Clarkson endorses Ron Paul!

You guys want more female voters? Here's an opportunity.

I'm not much for pop music, but I did watch the first season of American Idol with my niece & nephew, and she seems like a very nice, intelligent and kind person. She's also quite talented--and popular among regular people. So you guys, try to take off your libertarian "creep" hats, and do the right thing. She always seemed pretty conservative to me, in an intelligent way. And she's defending herself well, so don't be condescending--be supportive. I'll probably resuscitate my twitter account for this reason only.

Exactly. Ron Paul already has enough votes to win the nomination. No need to try and get more voters for him.

is this sarcasm?

and i too think the words of user jk/sea here are banworthy. someone famous comes out and endorses Ron Paul and you insult them repeatedly? That's repugnant, and it makes me think you're here to make us look bad... not to support Ron Paul.

Well I've tried. What I see worries me because these people automatically buy everything they believe. I see them citing Talking Points Memo's liberal hit article on Ron Paul, and I see the same person citing Redstatate and National Journal hit pieces...amazing. I'm sick of it.

Keep this in mind when you talk to people who disagree with you on Ron Paul. You accomplish NOTHING by just loudly saying what's on your mind. No need to placate, but patience, humor, and understanding go a long way towards building that initial bridge you'll need to engage someone on the philosophical level that is required to open someone's mind to Paul's viewpoints.

And remember that, likewise, the louder Ron Paul critics yell, the less impact they will have on the undecided voters.

this. i see many rude ron paul supporters on twitter and it makes me cringe. it accomplishes nothing.

now we know

This is what propaganda and brainwashing through mass media was designed for!

now we know what the good doctor has been up against for decades.and task ahead for us.liberty is not intuitive to most people, actually.
even friedrich hayek explained why collectivism is popular with younger people.young people see that families are actually socialist.parents dont reward the more meritorius son or look down upon the lazy one.there is no price system in operation inside the home.

the mistake they make is to assume that this is how the rest of the world should also relate to them -as one big happy family.since it takes logical thinking to realize that it is not a tenable position, you can expect less people to arrive at that conclusion than those used to collectivism.

it is a tough fight. it is easier to convert neocons than collectivists.

She had to go and add that last bit of crap. how about you tweet people work on convincing her to throw her support behind him now, not later.

There's a certain wholesomeness with American Idol, and a lack of scary bad stuff that campaigns don't like with American Idol. So, does RevPac give her money for her to do something? I'd think that anyone with money could just give it to RevPac and they could work it out. Maybe she can hang out at House of Bricks in Des Moines Iowa tomorrow, or next week at Jillians in Manchester, NH with Garden State and Jordan Page? The second one. Maybe she goes up there unannounced, maybe with Michelle Branch, and sings Bombs with Golden State and sings with Jordan Page as well. RevPac probably wouldn't have to pay as much as for a full, make money from it, concert type event.

So, i'm supposed to agree with her stating Ron 'probably' won't get the nomination? makes me question those who are rushing to support this statement. Ban worthy?...yes, all of you who think Ron won't get nominated should be banned.....imho.

Agreed. But by neocons I hope you mean social cons who have been blinded by the neocon agenda.

Guys Clarkson has a large following aging in their 20's through 40's. This could bring in real voters(mothers, career women, etc. She is not big in teeny bopper circle as some have speculated.

This is horrible. Now Michelle Branch too? And everyone is tweeting that Ron Paul is a racist and a homophobe. GAH!

WTF!?!?!?!?!?!

I totally agree with you but there's also a major individual liberties, civil rights, anti-war, free market ideology on the left that is not exactly libertarian but also not exactly collectivist, where most of our left-leaning converts will probably come from. That's where I came from and a lot of my friends are still there and just need to be woken up :).

Seeing some of these tweets from presumably gay men make my head hurt. If they took even a second to research things they'd see Paul was supportive. Voting to end DADT, having a gay campaign chair...

But he's a Republican so he must hate the queers.

I find liberals easier to convert. I think their hearts are in the right place, they just need to be educated in economics. I find that many neocons are almost a lost cause.
