Breaking: John Stossel downgraded to 6th place on list of Ron Paul's media allies.

Dylan Ratigan aint gonna like it when Ron Paul tells him he's not for his constitutional amendment to ban money in politics.

Dylan knows that. He knows where they agree and where they don't and Ron's reasons. He knows Ron isn't saying that because he wants more corporatism but because Ron thinks government shouldn't have influence industry would bother to buy... for the most part....

lol i'm 99% sure that picture is photoshopped.

That is not the one I saw. I did a search to find the one I saw I think it must have got taken down.

But hey nice try even for photo shop.

I just watched the debate and I thought Stossel did very well. He made solid points that we should trade with Iran etc.

1) Tom Woods
2) Judge Nap
3) John Stossel
4) John Stewart
5) Jack Cafferty

Why did you put Dylan Ratigan on the list??

I always thought Stossel was very good. However, he generally sticks with plucking the low-hanging fruit, which can leave him vulnerable in debates or when he has to deal with overly hostile opponents, when more sophisticated and deeper-level arguments are sometimes required. He isn't a big gun like Ron Paul/Tom Woods, or the Judge, but he is a very good "opening act" guy in the fight for freedom.

In fact, IRC my very first introduction to anti-statism was in grade school when I saw one of his "conventional wisdom is wrong" pieces.

Plus...the stache!

Making list is fun but we will all forget somebody just be the fact we don't know everybody, I would put Napolitano at the very top but who knows maybe there's a local radio host in Unalakleet Alaska that's just as good (there isn't to my knowledge ^^).

Stossel is a great guy and he completely "gets it." He just happens to be a bit soft spoken but I can't fault him for that.
This is more the way I see it, I hope I would be able to argue correctly with that dam O'Reilly but maybe not. That doesn't take away that I'm as is Stossel one of us (as Nap would say).

Wow, I'm amazed at all the Stossel hate in here.

Stossel knows that he's not very good at debates, especially with that asshole o'rly. He can't talk fast either because of his speech problem.
He's even self-admitted on his show that he's not very good with the foreign wars / terrorism side of libertarianism and he has been trying to fix that.

His show is great and is 99% inline with Ron Paul's views. He has Ron on a lot as well as other libertarians like Tom Woods. If you haven't seen his show, definitely check it out, he does some great stuff.

Do you know anyone else that would do an entire 1 hour show pretty much dedicated to Ron Paul and even have him debate with an Obama impersonator? Not to mention an entire show dedicated to F.A. Hayek and the Road to Serfdom.

Come on guys, put some things in perspective here...

Maybe Stossel didn't come off as strong as he could have, but are youguys really calling him a neo-con? What is wrong with you guys?

Guys.. relax. Its o'rly. No one cares what o'rly thinks if he does even think.

Okay, I am willing to go along with Stossel being supportive of Ron Paul's views most of the time. That much is true.

Maybe there is a script he must follow on O'Reilly's show???

I am not aware of a speech problem that Mr. Stossel has, so I cannot speak to that. If there is one, then I am not sure how it fits in. He seems quite capable of speaking just fine.

I stand by my having said that last night he was terrible. Off night perhaps? I do not know, but he did not help Dr. Paul with such a weak argument.

I still like most of what Mr. Stossel has to say. He makes a great deal more sense than many people.

He stutters. Mostly overcome, but it returns on occasion. It wasn't an off night, he is always weak when defending Ron. It's just the ass O'Reilly. Would probably throw a fit and get Stossel fired if he was too rough.

Anyway, Stossel's show is great. His job isn't to defend Ron, even if O'Reilly acts like it is.

So is there such a thing as a neocon libertarian? :D

There are lots of pro-war libertarians. There are some pro-aggressive war and nation building libertarians. It's not uncommon for a libertarian to support (have supported) WWI, WWII, the Gulf War or the Afgan War.

These are not libertarians, by definition.
