Blimp Update with Photos and Videos **MUST SEE**

That was pre-nov 5th... the sob squads and their troll minions took up resident here sometime after the big day... Some of our folks fell pray to the mass hysteria and dementia...
I could only imagine how big of a fit they would have thrown when we were crashing the GOP call center in Michigan.

Having spent an enormous time fighting off "trolls against the blimp", I'd like you to address a basic concern of mine torchbearer.

Everyone I saw "complaining" about being lied to about the blimp flying over weather related issues, instead of the fact that the banners not being done, were long term supporters, not trolls, who have supported the blimp quite a bit on here. Is troll anyone that just disagrees with you at the moment? I think I saw you say you donated $75 to the blimp. I'm not impressed with your attitude toward others that also donated.

As it is, the blimp may not get to Boston, will have to fly at night so it won't be seen if it does, and people *were* lied to about it. To glory in this over people who were your brothers in getting this done is wicked, so I assume you never were. Just plain wrong.

You need to go to your medicine cabinet and take those pills your doctor perscribed.
.

You're insulting someone for Ron Paul, and I voted for him in 1988 too. Ron Paul would NOT act like this to anyone, so why are you even supporting him? You did this last night too. Its what finally ticked me off in fact, when I had spent all day telling people on the thread and in message to just wait.

So you don't like the blimp, then just stop commenting in the blimp subforum, ...

I've been a long term pro-blimp person as anyone knows who has actually been here.

I resent how some people were/are being insulted, itself wrong, for asking questions about being lied to, itself wrong. It doesn't have anything to do with the blimp, it has to do with honesty and being nice.

There is no glory in being wrong, about anything, ever.

I think you should be more excited about the blimp, and less disappointed that the immense complexity and logistics issues have caused some very minor problems if you look at the grand scale of what it is generally intended to do.

And I have to wonder why YOU acting like this. I really don't care if I ticked you off. You appear to be a mental case or someone purposely trying to cause trouble. You keep calling us liars. That's BS and damned offensive... we have tried to provide the best information we had at the time throughout this process.

TO ANYBODY ELSE... How can I change my forum settings to ignore this guy?

No JOKING intended, but perhaps you are simply just being sensitive about all of this. If I was reading the same information you were reading and I am assuming we were, it was not even known until Friday that the Blimp project was a go, so logically, I personally was doubtful that it would be ready to launch Monday nor was I surprised that it didn't. Do you know any Vendors willing to float a $200,000 deposit on good faith with no prior relationship? Likely not.

I SERIOUSLY DOUBT, there was a conspiracy to willfully mislead Blimp supporters. If the Blimp organizers had done this before then you may have more of a point to your anger but the simple fact is this hasn't been done before therefor they were dependent on information provided to them by Vendors and of course their own educated (uneducated in this case) guesses.

Personally, having coordinated LARGE projects before and been given wrong information by vendors in the past I can see how this sort of mistake could be made when have little or no experience in whatever project you are moving forward.

In short, lets cut them some slack and give them the benefit of the doubt.

Dave

Was I talking about you?

I don't think you can turn specific users' comments off, but luckily he has a recognizable icon (Franklin) that you can just glance at and use to skip over his comments.

Works for me :)

Great job, guys!

As for speaking for yourself: OK, you've made your point, repeatedly, we get it.

Please now divert your energies to something productive, or get out of the way of people who are trying to get something accomplished.

My suggestion: think of a specific measurable goal, enlist support if needed, go do it, and report back.

I never said that, I said "let me", not "I am". I've been accused of being a troll, told to go to a medicine cabinet and so on. The last by a person who I think claims to be part of the blimp team, and is certainly actionable.

I had a goal. I had a goal to support the blimp and get other people to support it. If that turns out to be an excuse to glory in being wrong, I will have another goal. I will have the goal of getting my money back. Under the circumstances, since it was raised by not being truthful and in bad faith, I have the right.

If the banner could not have been done. If it really would have taken months (something I also believe isn't true), then we would have all lost our money. That isn't right. When the blimp was grounded for not having a banner, the blimp company should have told the truth. Its the worse management I've ever seen.

BeFranklin,

Please review my suggestion to you in comment #59, quoted here for your convenience.

"Please now divert your energies to something productive, or get out of the way of people who are trying to get something accomplished.

Have you considered this suggestion? (This is a YES or NO answer.)

If your answer is NO: Why not?

If your answer is YES: What are some of your initial concepts to explore?

Yes, you can turn off certain users comments. Just click on their name, go to their public profile....look on the right side for "add "username" to ignore list... add, then save. done.

BeFranklin,

You seem a little tense? :D

Dave

There is no glory in attacking me. I believe I am doing the right thing. If that is an excuse to make fun of someone, who has supported the blimp all along, then I'd say you were a bad person.

The ability to IGNORE a user... Great!
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!

Thats ridiculous. We've had a real project manager last night take issue for this.

This was not an immense project, it was not a complex project, there wasn't much issue of logistics, and according to the last version of the story, the blimp company was entirely responsible for the banner, so it also had nothing to do with the blimp company at all. If I'd was to guess at the real story, not the several we've been told, the blimp company didn't start making the banner until the money was in hand, which also made a Monday launch impossible from the get-go. Which was wrong.

What makes this unique is something completely different. Its if people can come together online at a grassroots level and get things done. That is what is new. People launch blimps all the time.

What I'm seeing is this is beginning to unravel. We launched a blimp, but with a lot of grief, and attacking fellow supporters. This could be improved in so many ways.

BeFranklin,

I guess the point is, criticism is OK, just make it constructive. We all want this to work and I know this includes you.

Dave

I was on your side last night, trying to calm people down, 1-2 of which did call you liars, when you attacked everyone that had a question, including me. I was telling people to wait both in the thread publicly and by message.

As near as I can tell, the blimp company you are renting from was entirely responsible for the banner. That may reflect well on them, or it may mean they waited until they got the money, but it doesn't reflect well on you.

God forbid you treat anyone the way you have treated others on this thread, either your friend, your neighbor, your supporters, or a stranger. It is nothing to glory in.
