The "Paul Handlers" wore black caps with a white star to the RNC in 2008. We need to do the same this year in Tampa as a sign of solidarity. Paul people can don them inside the convention and the Veterans for Ron Paul can don them outside the Convention......Thoughts?

See: RP delegates were intimidated and harrased at the RNC (stories from 2008)

Props to Kodaddy in the above thread for the idea.
The RP delegation should show up with black hats with white stars on them...

Yeah, even if they traded the old caps for a new model, us wearing the old-style ones will definitely make a statement: We remember 2008.

The party isn't known for being very inventive, and probably cheap too. I'd wager they'll re-use the old caps - keep it as a sign of intimidation from here on out.. couldn't cost too much to have a bunch made just in case. I'm seriously liking this idea, not just as joke.

Black hats’ keep lookout for troublemakers

weren't they mccain's thugs?

it's a nice idea, but if you stand out, they may block you off... when to wear the hats is all about timing, i think.

They are looking for us...

ST. PAUL, Minn. — Fearing demonstrations from Ron Paul delegates here at the Republican National Convention, the party has created a “black-hat” squad to track the Paulites and other potential troublemakers to make sure they don’t cause a scene on the convention floor.

Not something I would wear.

I agree on the timing and if they're searching bags, it could be problematic.

Looks like they were Party goons, not just McCain goons......

This guy will be doing the planning

The convention's security director is Al Concordia from Philadelphia, PA.

Concordia brings decades of Federal, private sector experience to convention team

Philadelphia, Pa., native Al Concordia has been named director of security for the 2012 Republican National Convention to be held in Tampa, Fla., August 27-30.

Concordia was selected for the position after spending over three decades in public and private sectors of security planning, emergency preparedness and response. He has worked with the Eagles Football Organization and conducted security risk management for Pfizer Pharmaceuticals. He has also served as the Assistant Sergeant-at-Arms at the U.S. Senate.

Concordia was a U.S. Secret Service agent for 20 years and provided protection for multiple Presidents of the United States.
"I am confident in our ability to ensure the highest level of protection for the planning and execution of the 2012 Republican National Convention. The safety of our nominee, guests and the surrounding community environment is a priority for our team," Concordia said.

Great find! I'm concerned about how how HR 347 affects us in Tampa. FTW.

Doug Wead is going to check with the Campaign to see what they think about us wearing the same attire as the "Paul Handler" goons.....

I kind of like the fact that they need these goons there to squash dissent since it forces those "freedom lovers" to take on a very fascist role and at some point in their lives they'll realize that suppression only encourages us to fight harder. It creates blowback.

They had similar goons in hats at the NC state convention in '08 but they all wore McCain hats. .... which reminds me, I thought at the time that the Paul campaign needs to provide a bunch of Paul hats and have some intimidating looking guys in suits wear them at the state conventions to provide a presence. tit for tat.

Kokesh also had an idea with the 'slave uprising' idea in 2008 to identify ourselves by tying a piece of white cloth on one's arm but that idea died off.

What about black berets? Special forces style.... Could have "revolution" embroidered on them...
