Somewhat of a similar topic, I would love to see a HUGE billboard across from the convention that said:

McCain is a Democrat
just ask -
Liebermann, Kennedy, and Feingold.

Or how about:
Minnesota is Ron Paul Country.

- ML

You should have one that says Ron Paul is the only Republican that can defeat Obama in the fall.

You should really put a side profile of his picture or something on that too.

There's room in the bottom left corner.

Where he'd be kinda looking at the quote next to him?

Adam,

That may be a great idea for SOME of them, but not all.
Just my humble opinion, but I think it's the bold, clean, crisp look of the "Truth is Treason..." board that makes it so striking and powerful.

Again, just my 2 cents.:)

It's not from the book. I think, though, we can legitimately paraphrase him and use quotation marks, like so: "Our government bombs and then pays to rebuild bridges in Iraq, while our own bridges are falling down right here."

Instead of a page number, you could then write, "Read The Revolution: A Manifesto, by Ron Paul," along with an image of the book.

I realize the idea was to have book quotes and make all these broadsides a matched set. However, the quote in question is not only so good but so especially topical around St. Paul, that I would personally make an exception for it were it up to me. And I would leave the picture off--we want the neocons to look, read, agree, and then see whose quote it is--not see Dr. Paul's face, say to themselves there's the enemy, and look away.

are you going to survey/poll the quotes so that you can get
a true visual of which quotes are best?

and to clarify, these are quotes for national delegates coming
into town and not for local St. Paulians, right? That plays into
which quotes would be best.

I tend to agree leave it simple with lots of white space. Let the quote do its job.

Yes this one is top priority on the list. Just need the proper phrasing and I can make up a mock. I know he's said this in many speeches. Anyone know the exact wording?

I really want to put up 5 billboards in St. Paul. I think the 2 mocks so far are golden, and the one about the bridges is 3. I guess we'll see how much we can raise. Each one is giong to be in the $2500 range for 1 week.

And yes these are for the delegates, but of course any other non-Paul people can soak em in too! And the pro-Paul people can just sit back and smile :)

How about some John McCain quotes?

Also, what mode of transportation will the delegates be using for the most part?

The bus idea is really good, has anyone priced advertising on taxi cabs or in bus stops?

I'll be donating to this probably later today or tomorrow. Hope others do too.

thanks adam;) i will se ya in St Paul i assume??

I wouldn't miss it!!!

I'm considering taking a trip to St. Paul in the coming weeks (only 4 hours from here) to properly stake out the convention center. I want to stand at the front doors, look around for all the billboards I can see the best. Then go up to them and get the company names and try to book them.

Clear Channel says they have 2 digital boards right next to the center, and those are $2500/week. The digitals are good and all, but they are on rotators where up to 8 different images rotate, each staying on 8 seconds or so. That might make it a little annoying considering we want people to stare at the quotes and take them in.

My PAC can't do negative advertising for candidates (assume the McCain quotes would put him in a bad light :)).

Those other things are on the list but I want to work on the billboards first. It really depends on how much we can raise (hint to donate!).
