Maher: Rand Paul’s questions to Clinton a result of ‘horseshit’ he heard on TV

Maher discussed the Benghazi congressional hearing, where Secretary of State Hillary Clinton was asked about the killings of the ambassador to Libya along with three other diplomats, although Maher said Americans “don’t give a shit about” Benghazi.

What happened was awful, he went on, but “if you are hellbent on tracing it back to President Blackenstein, you are going down a rabbit hole. But then of course what do they do? They go down that rabbit hole.”

Maher was especially struck by Republican Sen. Rand Paul’s line of questioning during the hearing. He asked, “Is the U.S. involved with any procuring of weapons, transfer of weapons, buying, selling, anyhow, transferring weapons to Turkey?”

Clinton at the time paused notably. “To Turkey?”

Paul later went on Sean Hannity’s talk show on Fox and said he had no proof and had had no hearing on anything with regard to Turkey. “In other words, this is just a bunch of horse shit I heard on TV that I’m going to bring into the United States Senate,” Maher said.

Avella said that the left-wing also had conspiracy theories regarding 9/11, but Maher and Dean claimed that he was making a “false equivalence” because a much larger percentage of Republicans believe that Obama was born in Kenya than the percentage of liberals who ever believed 9/11 was an inside job.

How dare anybody attack King Obama and Queen Clinton. Especially that racist Paul bug...they shall not be questioned!

Maher is the definition of liberal scumbag. One of the main reasons I got rid of cable and HBO. I will not financially support this garbage.

The thing is, he kind of liked Ron and would usually say good things about him. I am pretty sure much of this love from the left-wing crowd was because they wanted nothing more than to make the Republican primary an ugly, long race that they knew he had no shot of winning. Bring in Rand, who really isn't much different from dad, and he just gets pummeled by the left. My favorite, checking in on the left-wing blogs and forums and a post will come up talking about NDAA and how they're all ticked it passes and then someone says Rand Paul voted it down and the reaction is: "That's the only time I'll ever agree with this teabagger!" Next comes FISA: "Rand Paul voted against it?? Only time I'll agree with him!"

The left is too dumb to even know what's good for them, even on just a few issues.

Yeah, they do seem to be. They wouldn't be if they thought that they could easily beat him in a general election, would they?

I had a raging lib tell me in those exact words this summer... "I like Ron, but Rand terrifies me, he's the most conservative Senator we've ever had..." I didn't think much about it at the time but I think as he gains traction were going to see more and more reaction from fear on the left.

My fault, your fault, anybody's fault, we're going to war. Nothing that Bill Maher has to say is going to change it.

So where is the NYT article that Rand got his information from?

Maher did a great job of making Rand look like a kook, he knew exactly how to frame it. I'd like to have some ammunition to back up the validity of that line of questioning. Hopefully something other than Glenn Beck or a blog as a news source.

Maher, the 'libertarian' who supports ObamaCare is a complete clown. But Maher, Uygur, Stewart, Colbert, they all somehow make the right in America look ridiculous, while their conservative counterparts just focus on getting people angry. South Park are the only people that make jokes about how retarded the left are. Middle-ground people generally respond a lot better to jokes than to angry guys shouting.

Such a shame what Bill has become. He used to be so good before we went full lefty tard.

It is a matter of rhetoric. Ron went out of his way not to hurl endless insults at Obama (as the other candidates did) and instead focused on the philosophy of liberty. Rand is much more of a political opportunist and takes any chance to flame Obama, Clinton, or any Democrat as the opportunity arises. Hence the extraordinary hate for Rand from the left...
