Bill Kristol attacks Rand Paul for running ‘to the left of the Obama administration’ [VIDEO]

On “Fox News Sunday,” Weekly Standard editor Bill Kristol echoed an editorial he wrote this week slamming Kentucky Republican Sen. Rand Paul for suggesting at the Conservative Political Action Conference that the “GOP of old has grown stale and moss-covered.”

“I think it is the Republican Party, to the degree that it has been a successful party and an important party and a contributor to American well-being over the last 50, 60 years, has been so in large part because it has been the party of strong national security,” Kristol said. “Republicans were not — you can say they are moss-covered, but some of us are proud to have come to Washington to work in a very minor role for Ronald Reagan, and some of us are proud to have supported the Bush administration after 9/11, and fighting our enemies.”

Kristol had previously labeled Paul, who went on to win the CPAC presidential straw poll on Sunday, the “Code Pink faction” of the Republican Party.

“So if Rand Paul wants to run to the left of the Obama administration, he’s free to try that in the Republican primary,” Kristol said on Sunday. “And maybe there is more support for that than I think, but I’m pretty doubtful that there really is.”

Hey! Look at him run left of the Democrats! No, don't look at me run left of the Democrats! I said look at him run left of the Democrats!!

Oh, shut up and have some more pie, Bill.

Given that the Obama admin has basically gone full-blown Nazi, the area to the "left" of it should be quite comfortable.

Full replay at 6:00 on Fox News, the panel segments with Bill and Karl, et all start around 6:30. Panel Plus is the extra bit after the show and is available at foxnewssunday.com

Also, the other old Weekly Standard guy, Fred Barnes, tweeted this.

CPAC and GOP aren't the same. Libertarians dominate CPAC. Who else would stand during Rand Paul's entire speech?

Sadly I think Kristol & Friends are getting ready to pull the trigger. The good news is that Rand won't need to court that clown anymore if Kristol makes the mistake and goes all in.

Good. They're pulling their trigger 3 years ahead of the campaign. I'd rather have an honest fight over foreign policy now than mudslinging during the primary.

Mr. Bill Kristol...lets go over the last few election cycles shall we?....Liberty candidates took back the house...why? republican candidates for Prez the last 2 elections lost...why?

go away, you're stinkin up the place moron.

HAHAHA! ISNT THIS WHAT BRET BAIER SAID TO RON PAUL IN A FOX NEWS DEBATE WHILE DISCUSSING IRAN? TALKING POINTS!

Nina Easton of Fortune Magazine says Republicans lost moderates. Says going after drones won't win those back, but going after "legitimate rape" will.

Meanwhile....

I have seen more than a few conservatives turn against Bill Kristol lately, especially since his comments about Rand now belonging to the Code Pink wing of the Republican Party. Good to see.

What exactly is Kristol’s occupation again? Time for these self-appointed “experts” to get real jobs. Let’s see how long they would last if they were proven wrong on almost every point.

He's a propagandist and editor of the loss making Weekly Standard. Who the hell would subscribe to that rag? How does it stay in business? Answer: he's funded by defense interests and that's why he agitates for war and has never met an intervention he didn't like.

As long as that defense budget is increasing year on year Kristol's backers are more than happy. That's why he argued against the sequester and would actually support higher taxes and "closing loopholes" to ensure his sacred cow is kept fat.

He would probably support turning the U.S into a military state headed by a General if he thought he could sell it. That way he could divert 25% of GDP to the Pentagon instead of a paltry 3%
