Between now and November: Take down Mitt Romney

The Republican neo cons made their bed so NOW they need to sleep in it and suffer the consequences. They need to suck it up and accept they screwed themselves out of repealing Obama Care. Lets give em the medicine they so rightly deserve!

I know conservatives think taking the WH is the most important thing, like we're electing a king (and sadly in many ways, we are) but try to explain that CONgress is more important, and Romney losing is the Tea Party's only hope.

+rep

as a former dem I agree with this.

Glad to have you on board, I'm a former neocon.

What hurts me the most—I mean, what really makes me say, "Okay, I can't in good conscience do this."—is that I feel like I would be, in a sense, betraying those who come from the left, if I were to support Romney for the sake of party "unity." The establishment's definition of 'unity' sucks, because it hinges solely on the ability to win elections. My definition of 'unity' hinges solely on the ability to spread a message.

I'm getting the germ of an idea of a competing Republican Party to the GOP.

After what was pulled in Tampa by the Party leaders, we are not alone in being pissed off and feeling disenfranchised. It's a foundation that could be built on if done right. There is a chance here to grow the Liberty movement very quickly.

Why not have an American Republican Party that embodies the Conservative and Liberty values. Let's boot out the RINOs!!!

How about we call the new party the CARP - Conservative American Republican Party.
It's got a good ring to it.

I used to think that, but the economy is just so stagnant. Because Obama has no accomplishments to run on, he has to run a negative campaign, which means that Romney gets to play Hope, while Ryan gets to extol the virtues of Change.
Romneycare is going to end Romneys chances, and democrats sitting on the fence would rather vote for something they know what to expect from rather than take their chances on a wild card that might be far worse than what they have already

Not good. In the Pittsburgh, Pa region, carp has a image of "shit eating fish". Can't speak for other parts of country where carp prevail.

And Romney has been playing the RomneyCare card to bring in Democrats.

While he is playing up his socialist cred to the dems we need to reveal this to the conservatives.

After the convention the candidate always moves toward the other side. While he is over there, we need to reveal him as a Democrat. He will write his own death certificate.

Hell, look at what he is pushing!

Yes, but Elwar, most Republicans are still going to see Romney as the better of two bad options.

Now that Ron Paul is out and there's no longer a figurehead to our movement, look at what we have spiraled down into. So much infighting.

Oh, it will die down eventually. This happened after the '07/'08 campaign too.

What I am worried about is the damage that we might do to our label in the meantime. But, people are going to do what they are going to do.

Then we get specifics of worse things in the Mass health care than in ObamaCare. I am sure there must be some.

PEOPLE

Promote what you love, not what you hate.

Don't waste your energy playing these negative games. Fight for positive liberty in your life.

does that mean i can't ask people what their policy beliefs are, and then when they are done- ask them what romney's policy beliefs are?

CARP is a fish. I don't think it's even a species found in America

I'm really going for the idea....the name is just something that came to me.

I'm not stuck on a name...but let's not call it the Conservative Republican American Party. That would be the CRAP Party. :D

The beauty of this is that we could lay the groundwork for this without having to be anti-Romney. This would enable us to draw in other disaffected Republicans. Romney could win in November, even be re-elected in 2016 and it wouldn't lock us out.

We have a base here in RP supporters and a good potential base in Conservatives that are being pushed out by these new rules. Calling ourselves some kind of Republican would let them feel like they were not abandoning anything...only seeking a better venue for their beliefs. There's no need to co-opt a party that doesn't want us. They have disaffected so many as of now that we have a base for a new party. I don't believe I'm alone in thinking this.

The Conservative wing + the Libertarian wing is enough to start a new party. I may put a feeler out by approaching our local Tea Party group and see how the notion flies. It seems like a logical first step.

I really like Parocks suggestion of "Operation Humiliate Romney", posing as Romney supporters anywhere cameras will be and say racist, foolish and bigotted things. The media will run wild with footage like that.

I think it would be better to make the neocons and RINOs go start their own party.

Well, then, just rearrange the two middle letters.... whoops, no.... wait! can't do that. Gotta think of another name. :(

A vote for Mitt Romney is a vote for 8 more years of Obama's policies.

^^^^^ Someone make a Banner of this statement. We all post it everywhere.

CLAP would work, too....

Wait, better not....
