Yeah, I know. I tried getting the best of both worlds by moving to my current home almost 20 years ago. Small city (<100k), Blue Ridge on one side, Alleghenies on the other. I have two trail heads within 1/2 mile of my house and a third about 3/4 mile away that get me into the woods almost every day.

Ha! That was me when I first moved here. But that was then, this is now. I won't bore folks with the details on a picture thread, but this place is not the same anymore and it's taking on some of the characteristics of the "big cities." It's not entirely there yet, but the writing is on the wall. Time to downsize.

But because it's a picture thread, here's an example of what I did at lunch today:

It's not the exact stretch of trail that I did today, but this picture is from the same mountain and pretty representative of the trails up there.

Lol. That’s my hometown. I’m 2 miles from parkway entrance but they shut down a large swath of it during Covid and rain damage.
