I'll probably be unloading a few z's pretty soon and am trying to figure out the best way to sell. I don't want to pay ebay or paypal fees. what have you all found to be good?

You could consider an auction house near you that gets heavy traffic. Of course there is a risk and a commission you will have to pay but you will avoid any potential harm of getting ripped off online. Another factor to consider that is that live auctions that are heavily attended or known for their gold/PM offerings are usually filled with speculators who get carried away with the competitive nature that a live auction fosters. They will often run bidding up to well over spot price or numismatic value. Just something to consider.

I've never done this, but perhaps you could sell it to a local coin dealer for spot price, or a % or two below spot. I know I've heard of people doing that.

You can sell to a local coin shop or any number of online dealers like tulving, apmex, etc.

I was thinking craigslist but would be worried about potential rip offs.

I live in Philly and I might be selling 2 $50 gold eagles. I haven't made up my mind yet. I'm house shopping and if I need the extra money for closing fees and such then I'll selll.

Craigslist.

Potential buyers should meet you in a third-party location, McDonalds for example, and deal openly there.

Yeah, other patrons look at you funny....

I'd sell for spot price, or spot plus a few dollars.

I do not know much about it, but my Uncle recently was going to sell gold to a local "we buy gold" dealer, and he ended up knowing the guy. The guy said he would give him 800$ but he would sell it to whoever he sells it to for 2400$, so he gave him full price since they were friends and he knows he doesn't often sell gold. So, if you could somehow find out who the "we buy gold" guys are selling to, you would cut.out the middle man and make a kit more money.

I have bought silver on here from a member on a couple occasions and it worked out. I used paypal but there is going to be some sort of fee no matter what method you use to unload your PMs. Ask on here first to give another RP support a crack at them first.

what kind of gold do you have? Where about are you located?

I'd consider buying from you, but can also recommend other sources if you offer more details.

I'll gladly pay you Tuesday for a the gold coins today.

Rather than McDonald's, meet at the buyer's bank and watch him or her withdraw the cash before making the transaction. If you're really cautious, arrive at and leave the transaction location in such a way that the seller never sees your vehicle.
