When I was a child, for a few years, we didn't have a television (lived in an area with no reception); I noticed the difference it made, early on. Never really owned a television, as an adult.
When I was younger, I had roommates who had televisions, but I usually asked them to keep them out of the common areas. Still, it's amazing how much of it is inescapable.
I'll admit to watching the odd episode of this or that, on the internet, or in a hotel, or at the homes of friends and family. I even enjoy the odd series, but they're usually the ones that were canceled after the first few episodes.
If the world of television had to rely on me or people like me, it would be vastly different or nonexistent.
