Best state economy... New Hampshire!

Sorry, just had to share this:

'New Hampshire’s unemployment rate is 4.2%, lower than the national average of 6% as of October, 2008.'

'Despite a national “recession”, New Hampshire still has a strong and vital economy. In fact, New Hampshire is the only state that has job growth above 1% as of October, 2008.'

Free State Project FTW! (http://freestateproject.org)

Actually I don't think that is true. I read an article the other day that said that over the last 8 months West Virginia has lead the nation in economic growth with about 2.7 percent growth.

Maybe so, but I think the point is NH isn't a bad place to be.

West Virginia doesn't have a particularly free economy, although they have one of the oldest US senators (Robert Byrd) who probably can give the state lots of pork...

That is true. Although the food tax is gradually being fazed out, but yeah we are heavily taxed.

WV's state budget is also looking better than most states and it's not as cold as New Hampshire :-)

Cold and freedom are good.

We (NH) also rank number 5 as having the highest state life expectancy.

Cold winters force one to be forward thinking, to plan and prepare for tomorrow, today.

And besides, there is nothing more invigorating than waking up to snow covered fields and mountains on a crisp winter morning morning with a temperature of about -10.

If that doesn't get your blood pumping, you're dead.

As of end of Sept Texas economy(a much larger one that NH or WV) was up 2.3% and growing....we are also the largest renewable energy provider and growing rapidly EVERY DAY.

The TX teachers retirements funds have over 105billion invested in the state as well, not bad :)
