Bernie Sanders supporter talks me out of voting for him

If it's any consolation, mathematically, your vote most likely won't make a difference anyway :)

You call your girlfriend a broad? Seriously? Does she know that?

Please tell her now, because you are not husband material.

She's not wife material and she knows that. Seriously she does. She doesn't want to be wife material for anybody. And she can give as well as she takes. Not all women are delicate flowers like you apparently are.

The stakes are actually incredibly low. Your one vote is statistically irrelevant.
That said I like your first idea better and have pondered doing the same. Then you can tell your girlfriend that you voted for Bernie because reasons and maybe get some hippie lovin.

Yeah...but I can't say with a straight face that I actually support Bernie. He's a total idiot. Worse than Trump in a lot of respects. And his supporters are insufferable. If I could just get by with saying "I voted for Bernie" that would be cool. But noooooo. That's not good enough. You've got to support lunacy like single payer healthcare. Screw that! (No pun intended.)

If it's any consolation, mathematically, your vote most likely won't make a difference anyway :)

True. One vote means nothing. Neither does one raindrop. But together they make a mighty flood. So says Confuscious. (Well...actually I just made that up. But it sounds Confusciousy.)

I liked Carson also, until he blew threw 20 million in about three weeks. Let's face it, we're all pretty much f'ked now that Rand left the race. We were left in a life boat with no preserver.

Yeah. Poor Carson was like BBQ ribs at a soul food wedding. The vultures were circling before the first checks were cashed. And as for Rand leaving the race? Remember that saying "Ron Paul cured my apathy?" Well Rand brought it back when he pulled out. Yeah...I get it. But it leaves me really not giving a flying fig.

jmdrake, you always seemed like such a rational fellow, until you showed up here looking for advice like your vote means jack shit.

It doesn't.

I'm doing the best thing I can this cycle. I'm refusing to participate. And I know a lot of people who are going to get really upset with me for not participating. That's my new education campaign: I'm not playing anymore, and if you want to know why, I'll tell you.

Thank you for your advice that I didn't ask for. :D Seriously I'm not "looking for advice." I'm thinking outloud. Isn't that allowed on a liberty forum? And if votes don't mean "jack shit" then what the hell have you and I been doing here since 2008? Serious question. I've seen people each election cycle spend money they didn't have (even maxing out credit cards for money bombs in 2008) and posting messages asking for people to help them order a pizza because they were that broke (and I've been there myself but sought help elsewhere) and for what? So we could get endless emails for a gadfly campaign to donate money so they could send a demand on our behalf to our senators and congressman to vote to audit the Fed? Like that actually does anything. The phones of the House and Senate were lit up with calls 10 to 1 against the TARP bankster bailout. Guess what? It passed anyway! So tell me again what the hell have we been doing?

the thought of "voting to block" just doesn't jibe well for me

Well you've got "voting to send a message" (write in Ron Paul), or "voting for a winner", or "voting just cause I like a free ride to the polls in someone else's car." At this point none of this fizzucking matters. It's your thing. Do what you wanna do. I can't tell you. Who to sock it to.
