It's only ironic if you think Socialism is the same thing in practice that it pretends to be in theory. Sanders' job is to make Hillary look middle of the road and make her positions look reasonable. He can't do it, but that's his job. And to wear bread crumbs laced with eleven herbs and spices, so Clinton can fry him more easily.

It's also his job to keep those Democrats who actually want to vote for someone principled within the party, instead of crossing over, becoming 'Blue Republicans', and voting for Rand Paul in the GOP primary. And that, unfortunately, he might actually be able to accomplish.
