Ben Swann Comment On Campaign E-mail

What really pisses me off and I have to lay the blame directly with Ron Paul himself, is how the Youth for Ron Paul, all 110,000 of them, were just thrown to the side of the road, dissed and dumped on by the Campaign

Imagine how many Campus Chapters were still circulating petitions to have Ron come and speak, working their butts off fighting the college administrations etc. Excited to hear the Champion of Liberty!!!

This is a part of Ron Paul himself that I did not know existed, particularly after saying how much he loved the "young people" and their thirst for liberty.

Wow!!! after the Events of the last 48 hours how those words now ring hollow!!!

The dark days of the Ron Paul Campaign are indeed black!!!

At this point in time, I am suggesting everyone to just "IGNORE" the campaign. Let's continue the delegate strategy on our own. We were on a roll until all of this drama happened.

That's what we did in Colorado when Benton and the local coordinator tried to sell out our entire CD. We decided to promote a Ron Paul slate, instead of the Santorum only slate they wanted to give us (hard core anti-Paul people). The coordinator (Matt Holdridge) reluctantly agreed to support us, and even came down when we voted for who would be on our slate and promised he wouldn't interfere. Then at the CD, he told volunteers that we surprised him with this betrayal and he had them follow us around telling people that we were running a fake slate on behalf on the Romney campaign (despite the fact that our slate was the only one out there with any actual Ron Paul supporters on it). The author of the plan to sell us out (a Rand Paul supporter from another CD) later stepped up and admitted that he did it in conjunction with Benton. So yes, do it on your own, but watch your back at all times.

campaigning at colleges = no money to be gained.

a lot of:
college students = poor/pay tuition. so no donations
college students = busy with exams, lab report, quizes, volunteer at lab, relatioships, friends, jobs to be useful in grassroots
college students = go to rallies cause its hip and cool =P... like Kony 2012
college students = cant vote because they not from that district/out of state and not easy getting them to register

so campaign made the logical decision to cut and let go of the education aspect of the campaign. they are not getting votes and they are not getting much money. college students are important for the future of the movement, but won't win elections. now, SOME of those students might get involved in the delegate process and the conventions or grassroots.

frankly, campaign has no money and donations have tapered off that mostly only hardcore supporters donate. they had no choice but to reallocate all of the campaign resources into winning delegates. besides, after we win delegates and ron becomes president.. he can educate millions of college students and hundreds of millions of people around the world =p.

also another poster said something about how... people driving hours to see ron paul. those people should use that 4 dollar a gallon gas and donate to the campaign instead =P..

Heck, Ben Swann isn't even for Ron Paul and he sees something wrong here. Benton is not a friend to this campaign.

Now that Ben Swann has said "Dude, what the Fu*k!" It makes me feel justified in saying "Dude, what the Fu*k!"

so is the concensus here that people think RP would take our money knowing he really had no chance?? I don't buy that. I feel they know there is a chance but they have to play "rope a dope" for awhile. Please don't be a dope. Saying its over but send us money, to me, clearly shows their strategy. They can't come out and say, we're gonna win, we're doing better than we imagined, send us money. I think the campaign thought we'd be smarter than that. Again, would RP take our money knowing he would not win? Ask you yourself that question. The answer should be, "absolutely not!" There's a plan, although we may not always be told the exact strategy. Its time to trust RP, rally, and fight as he would for us. Some of us are fighting, some of us are retreating....the line is faultering....

PUSH FORWARD!!!

This is all too friggin confusing. The accurate delegate count, especially when you throw in rule 38, seems that Ron Paul still has/had a chance at the nomination.

Personally, I'm beginning to think he was threatened by someone other than some lone loony. Probably the ones that threatened Ross Perot. But, that's just my opinion.

amen!!! All this drama is reminicent of Junior High. Full speed ahead, damn the torpedoes!

I do not understand what the campaign is trying to communicate at all. What does "the delegate strategy is working but Romney is going to win" even mean?

The dark clouds have lifted just a bit. Listened to the unedited press conference with Jesse Benton just now.

He said that Ron decided after the initial press release to continue speaking on College Campus's with the Youth for Ron Paul Chapters.

If true, my faith in Ron Paul has been renewed. I am so happy that he decided not to abandon the 110,000 strong YFRP.

Thank you Ron!!!

Nobody knows what this means. We are bewildered. All that's known is something is up and we aren't likely to know what that is for some time. If we sit around trying to figure it out for days on end, we are gonna blow it. Those that are now chanting "ignore the campaign" have it right. Forget this BS and press on with the game plan.
