What is going on with the Ron Paul Campaign?

The national media got the story wrong about Paul "dropping out" but then comes an email from Jesse Benton to supporters. I have been forwarded this email and asked to explain it. Frankly, I cannot.

I will continue to look into the issue but the bottomline is that the delegate fight IS going to Paul, so why back down? Staying humble and keeping your head down during the fight makes sense. Sending your supporters a note to say, "We aren't going to win but keep sending us money!" That doesn't compute.

Also, why would Jesse Benton be using the AP delegate count? I don't have any insider information, but I will start digging. If you have insider knowledge.. hit me up

This is all too friggin confusing. The accurate delegate count, especially when you throw in rule 38, seems that Ron Paul still has/had a chance at the nomination.

Personally, I'm beginning to think he was threatened by someone other than some lone loony. Probably the ones that threatened Ross Perot. But, that's just my opinion.

really....it gives me a headache. We get 2 unnecessary e-mails from the campaign telling us what we already know (that it's the delegate strategy). Inserted in them, however, is the campaign acknowledging it can't win (which I don't buy into) and that it's seeking 'influence'. All the while asking for more money???

At this point in time, I am suggesting everyone to just "IGNORE" the campaign. Let's continue the delegate strategy on our own. We were on a roll until all of this drama happened.

This is the way forward...just continue taking what we can get, and we'll see what happens when the dust settles.

I'm sorry, but that makes you a sheep. I'm not a sheep. I want to know what my time, effort and money is going to get me.
Resolutions at the national conventions. NOT ENOUGH. Platform changes in the GOP platform. NOT ENOUGH. Enough delegates at the national convention, and Ron Paul not accepting the nomination. NOT ENOUGH.

1. Get the chair.
2. Burn down the GOP.
3. Infiltrate the Ron Paul campaign with people who will accept victory.

How does that make me a sheep? If I say, "To hell with what the campaign leadership says; I think we should try to win," doesn't that make me NOT a sheep? ;)

Regardless, this sheep talk is irrelevant. Let's pretend for a moment that Ron Paul cannot win. If so, this is still not about resolutions or platform changes or empty promises. It's about something much more tangible...much more practical...much more essential. It's about voting on the rules of the GOP from this point forward. LISTEN VERY CLOSELY:
If we do not have enough of a say this year to stop it, the GOP is almost assured to eliminate caucus elections and turn everything into a winner-take-all primary state with bound delegates, so that we can never win any states again, ever. (...well, unless we all become bound delegates for Jeb Bush - LOL - in 2016 just to vote on the rules again.) They are already talking about changing the rules so "this" can never happen again, and we MUST stop them. If we're lucky, we might even get Ron Paul elected President in the process.

Hmmmm, interesting....I'm really getting suspicious at this point....Saboteurs?.

If Ron Paul has already admitted defeat, then what's the point of anything else? Becuase unless you destroy the establishment, the establishment still wins. And therefore will not be forced to change.

Please, by no means think that I'm accepting defeat, just asking the tough questions that some are afraid to ask. I want answers to these questions so that I can move forward knowing that all I've done, and many others that have been able to do more, has not been in vain. And that the establishment and their bias corruption cannot spit on us from now on.

We are fighting for change. And we demand change. And anything short of that, is not acceptable. If we are defeated. (as in RP can't get the GOP nomination or wont accept it) then by all means let me know. I donated money yesterday, and now thinking, I should've paid a bill with the money.

They were on here in 08. I nailed 'em with some good research and know the whereabouts of at least part of their operation. Interestingly enough it was the conference call coordinator of the jewish war veterans Chapter in Bergen County NJ for anybody who wants to know where they came from along with the RNC cocaine mafia NYC.. Jesse sounds like he has been gotten to.

Once again: If were are ever to have another shot at this, we have to keep the Republican establishment from changing the rules this year. If we can accomplish that, our efforts will not be in vain, because we will practically guarantee a victory in 2016. If we can't, our efforts WILL be in vain, and we will start the 2016 cycle in a hopeless position. If we're lucky, we'll defeat the establishment by maintaining or improving the current rules (proportional caucuses for everyone! ;)), and we'll elect Ron Paul President in the process. You have largely the same information as Benton does about the delegate numbers, so you can make up your own mind about whether Ron Paul has a shot or not.

Benton is a worthless piece of shit that has no business directing any of us... fight for liberty no matter what anyone says!!!!

We have to win THIS YEAR.

We cannot hope for a victory in 2016. We must make sure Ron Paul WINS THE NOMINATION in Tampa!

If you want to help TAKE OVER the campaign and MAKE THAT HAPPEN please participate in this thread.

Regardless what the heck is going on with the official campaign, the grassroots are going to make sure Ron Paul wins.

I'm all for that, as I'm sure many are. I can't help but wonder, though, what about the delegates we already have? How many will invest the time and money to make the trip to Tampa for some vague 'influence'? I'm sure that, to a person, that they would go IF the campaign had adopted a posture of winning, even if we were short on the count. Now, I'm not so sure.

That's all the more reason for the grassroots to unite and send a clear message to each other that we're in it to win it, until the fat lady sings. The actions of these delegates will only depend on the campaign's message indirectly; they'll depend much more directly on the general mood and sentiment of other grassroots supporters, which is why we need to pick up the slack that these emails have left behind.
