Become a Republican Committeeman!! *Please Sticky*

Call and ask

My Precinct Caucuses are this Saturday and our meetup is having a meeting Thursday to go over final details regarding getting the captian, co-captain, and youth leader positions.

We are late in getting all the information so I am not sure how everything will turn out but we have 55 precincts in my county with 3 position available in each one.... so hopefully we can gather some support. As long as everyone shows up.

I am not sure what to say or how to go about getting ourselves in exactly, but we're just going to try and take over.

I also posted this in the Kentucky section. Anyone who has done this before please let me know. We have our county convention on the 15th. (state is in June after the primary)

I don't know what county you are located in in Kentucky, but here is a listing of all the county GOP for Kentucky.

Find yours and call them up and tell them you want to place your name on their "Executive Committee", what are their procedures?

Here is the map-index for all of the other state GOPs, for anybody else who wants to find out what they need to do to place their names on their local GOP Executive Committee.

Find your state, find your county GOP website. Get their telephone number and call them up and tell them you want to place your name on their "Executive Committee", what are their procedures. How hard is that?

I have a question. I work and go to school. I would like to become a committeeman, but honestly I don't know if I can commit to something that will take up a lot of my time. So my question is, how much time does being a committeeman actually take?

We all work...

Most county parties meet once a month. I can assure you it will be meetings where you will meet people who have or will become politically important in your community. You will never regret anytime you invest in this endeavor. It will also give you a chance to spread your own political wings...it's all there waiting for you.

None... you are supposed to do things... no one does... so it is just a voting position mostly.

It all depends

Every county GOP is different. In small counties where the entire population is only 60,000, I would venture to guess not much is happening, although I would suspect even the small counties have two "State" representatives as well. In bigger counties where several million people reside, things are a little different. We have monthly meetings, along with different subcommittees. And as our delegates are now finding out, it is these party committee members who largely influence the delegate process.

The fact of the matter is, it will be essential to have as many Paulites become county GOP committee members as possible if the R3volution is to continue.
