Become a Republican Committeeman!! *Please Sticky*

I am a member of the REC in my county. I have been somewhat laying low about Ron PAul, but I did bring some slim jims in to put on a table before the primaries.

I have to hold my tongue when they start their war-talk and it really bothers me. My plan is to keep inviting more and more RP Republicans to the meetings and hopefully we can make a difference by stealth infiltration of the party.

I am a newly converted Democrat so all of this can be hard for me to stomach sometimes, not to mention the demand for blind party loyalty! The Dems are just as bad about blind loyalty to their candidate. So I sit quietly and do not say much, but I think that in the long run I am going to win these guys over! Rome was not built in a day, and the Republican Party was not taken by storm but was overcome gradually by the neocons.

They were all somewhat surprised to see me at this month's meeting! :D

yup

neocons got into power by stealth, and money, and it took time. But the RP people are smarter as I have gathered, so we infiltrate and turn things around from the inside. What you do is, slowly but surely over run these meetings with RP people, get them into key positions, and purge the the party of the scum. Slow methodical strategy will work wonders.

I'm already in many positions and im having a blast doing them....

I've been trying to convince people to do this for months. I hope more realize how important this is and how we can all start making permanent changes today. Sign waves & marches are fun, but accomplish very little. The role of a Precinct Committeeman may not exactly be fun, but it accomplishes much. This is where we separate the men from the boys. They talkers from the doers.

It's really not even that hard either. You get a list of your local Republicans and go meet them. It's not like you're in a random neighborhood selling chocolates door to door.

I have been appointed and will have to run for election in a few months. Fun stuff!

I'm running against an older lady. I'd feel bad bringing it up, especially because I hear she's very nice.. But to be honest, a 70-something year old woman just can't get out and canvass her precinct like a 28 yo guy could. Should I go for the throat in my leafleting material? Or play nice? :D

Sad but if she's a RINO then it doesn't matter.

Precinct Committee membership

At last, at long last, somebody has come up with a real worthwhile political strategy for actually keeping the Ron Paul R3volution alive after the November elections.

A few months ago there was a guy here who was also posting this same information. I can't remember his name, but he wanted everyone to join their local Republican Party, and do whatever they had to do to become a precinct committee member.

I would hope the RP Campaign could lend a hand in this regard as well. With a little organization RP supporters could be identified in each precinct and work together to get their precinct committee members either elected or appointed, whichever rules their local party have adopted.

The RNC has a listing of all State Parties, most can be accessed online. From the State Party website, some local party organizations are also listed, if not, call up the State Party headquarters and get your local information from them. Do whatever you have to do, but get the information....the R3volution depends on it.
In my county we are elected, so our local Election Board has all of the necessary information.

But there is one important point to remember about the process of gaining your precinct committee seat, no matter what the process is, there is always a very good chance your precinct committee seat may be open for one reason or another...many local parties have a by-law that states three unexcused missed meetings and the seat is automatically open...so make sure you contact your local party organization and see if your seat is open even after the selection process has taken place. In such cases, you may simply have to apply and show up at your next party meeting, if unopposed, you take your seat. If there are others who filed for that same vacant seat, the local party membership will take a vote on who they support. If other Ron Paul supporters have done their job, they will be able to vote you into your seat. So that's another reason why every true Ron Paul support should do what they need to do to become their precinct committee member of their local Republican Party.

But as I have said -- and if anybody here is in contact with anybody in the Ron Paul organization -- their help in this regard could be immeasurable in terms of networking and organizing to get as many RP supporters into their local precinct committee seats as possible

+1 Great post.

we here goes

My Precinct Caucuses are this Saturday and our meetup is having a meeting Thursday to go over final details regarding getting the captian, co-captain, and youth leader positions.

We are late in getting all the information so I am not sure how everything will turn out but we have 55 precincts in my county with 3 position available in each one.... so hopefully we can gather some support. As long as everyone shows up.

I am not sure what to say or how to go about getting ourselves in exactly, but we're just going to try and take over.

I also posted this in the Kentucky section. Anyone who has done this before please let me know. We have our county convention on the 15th. (state is in June after the primary)

debbie downer, sorry

People care more about a march than taking over the party and actualy getting things done...

I agree. We had almost 2 dozen show up for a sign wave two months ago. I just sent out an email to over 50 supporters in my county to try and get them to come out to the precinct caucuses the Saturday, I hope we get just as much support.

Also, I'd rather see this "march" take place at the national convention in September. That, to me, would make more of an impact. MSM ignored the anti-abortion march this year (Ron Paul ties) obviously they'll ignore this too.

See my Signature ;)

Just an FYI. In St. Charles County MO, it costs nothing to get on the ballot. We also have a lottery system in MO for where your name appears on the ballot for your township. The lottery has already passed for St. Charles County, but I went up on the day of and pulled out numero uno!!!

That HAS to be a good sign!

I've also been told from local insiders that the Republican Committee of MO decides which candidates to funnel money to, what changes to make to the MO GOP's platform, amongst other things (I'm still learning).

I encourage everyone to do this.

We need intelligent individuals steering our country towards Constitutional government during and after this crisis facing us. We don't need socialists or neocons trying to exploit it to take away more of our rights.

Congratulations, derdy.

As someone once said here a few months ago, there are two important names that must appear on the November ballot, Dr. Paul's of course and your own.

Registering as a Republican and placing your name on the ballot to represent your precinct on your local party's executive committee is by far the most important step you can make to support Ron Paul now that he has won his Congressional seat. We hear so many complaints about necons, it's about time we actively replaced them; don't you think?

I hope other RP supporters will follow your lead and do what they have to do to insure they become their Republican Party precinct committee representative.

There is one more thing I might suggest you look into as well, and that is also placing your name as your local Republican Party county's "State" representative. These two positions (male and female) are usually elected at the ballot box as well. So if you are going to run one election, you might as well run two...with a little networking of your fellow RP supporters in your county, you can probably win that position as well.

I'll bet there are not many RP supporters who realize they can run for two political offices...but it's true. In fact, you have to be a precinct committee man to be eligible to serve as your county's "State" GOP representative.

Just one more reminder, the GOP usually assigns two seats for every position it offers, one for a "male" and one for a "female". So all RP female supporters should also do what they have to do to get their seat on their local county Republican Party executive committee and win their seat as their local GOP (female) "State" representative.
