Beating Giuliani and Thompson in Michigan Feels Great!

Ron Paul has beat Fred Thompson TWICE (NH & Michigan) and Rudy Giuliani TWICE (Iowa & Michigan) and has more votes total than either of them in three primaries.

Ron Paul has really hurt Giuliani's campaign, probably fatally so. Thats a big victory in my eyes.

We're gonna make this happen Marc! When the candidates start to drop out, Ron's name recognition is going way up, our dedication and ability to convince family and friends is going to chip away at the remaining candidates' support, and the targeted ads are going to hit with optimal effectiveness.

While it does feel great to beat up on more well-known foes like Giuliani and Thompson, we need these guys to stick around as long as possible. Each one that drops out means more support for another of our neocon opponents. Best case scenario is that Giuliani or Thompson start to rise a bit at the expense of McCain, Romney, and Huckabee.

At the moment, we lose a head-on matchup with any of these guys by a 9-1 margin, at least.

I'm sorry to say this, but it seems like our standards for what constitutes success keep getting lower and lower.

In a state with no campaign focus, this IS a win, no other way to interpret it. We're a big state, so to carry a significant percentage requires significant investment and we couldn't have outspent McCain or Romney.

We're sitting pretty right now, and McCain emptied the bank trying to maintain his momentum from NH. Now heis "a disaster" and broke. Romney responded by pulling all other ads and dumping on Michigan, so now he needs to pay himself more money. Huckabee blew money on ads here also.

SC is another state, more folks blowing through money.

And here we are with money in hand, and having defeated "front runners" a number of times.

Rubbish, anyone can see how the movement is spreading. The slowness of it all is deceiving, but the numbers don't lie. We now are looking to beat both Fred and Guiliani consistently....wait for another state that is low on evangelicals and we'll be positioning to take 3rd place from Huckabee...just wait and see.

Lets not forget the results BEFORE MICHIGAN!

1. Romney 103,755 30%
2. McCain 102,361 29%
3. Huckabee 66,876 19%
4. Paul 29,648 9%
5. Giuliani 24,151 7%
6. Thompson 18,712 5%

So, who are the fringe candidates again?

On my local news they just said that the Romney win is good news for Rudy, who is in FL.

"Good news?"

Whatever...

I like your optimism, and I hope you're right.

BTW--I can honestly say I've never had anyone say "rubbish" to me. I've heard it in movies, but I didn't know anyone actually uses it in real life. Now I'm just waiting for some to exclaim, "Balderdash!!!!"

Ron has moved UP from a consistent 5th place to a SOLID 4th in three state primaries while the media shuns and slams him and you say this isn't success? He is clobbering the supposed front runner of less than a year ago and another media hopeful (hopefully Guiliani won't have a big Florida outcome).

There are still more than 40 states to go and considering there was no real campaign involvement in Michigan, this is awesome progress.

It is good news for Rudy, because it slows down McCain. His money will drop off a little bit so it will be harder for him to compete in Florida. And Romney gets some more votes.

I'll bet Rudy is celebrating in drag tonight :) I'll take a guess and say Carl Cameron is his escort ;)

I'm not trying to offend.....I just don't think a 6% finish is that great just because it happens to beat a 4% finish and a 2% finish. We need more than 6% of the voting public to be on board with us.

It sure does feel great.

For that I give a round of applause. :D
