Be careful! RPF Scammer revealed!

I have a scammer that I've been trying to reveal too but the mods and admins seem to be turning their backs to it because I believe he is friends with some of them.

http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthread.php?338013-Iowa-quot-Oath-quot-Ad-Campaign-Chip-In!

This is also a sock puppet account, the guy made an extremely misleading deceitful sales pitch asking for money. He raised almost $2,500 then abandoned the thread, kept the money, and I believe he is actually travelling the world right now throughout tropical islands, europe, etc. Not even joking....

Neverseen, you made an honest mistake and just like all of those who donated got duped. I don't fault you, just be more careful next time!

I think as punishment the scammer should not only give all the money back, but should also donate dollar for dollar to Ron Paul's campaign as penance.

We should in the meantime report his chipins an make sure he gets his IP and email blocked from starting chipins in the future.

Hopefully the money will be returned.

If not, I'm hoping someone on RPF has the skills to track this guy down and have him prosecuted.

We do.

I'm wondering, what happened to the guy from California who scammed Ron Paul supporters into donating? I know we got his name, address, IP, workplace details, email, phone, etc. I know lots of us reported him to the FBI, FEC, and local police. Did anything come of that?

His punishment should be the FBI arresting his scamming ass & putting it in prison.

I agree. He took a couple grand from Ron Paul supporters with his phony website. I'm just wondering if anyone know what happened to him after we reported him.

Damn, I just caught wind of this from a facebook message that people were mentioning me. I'm on my way to work shortly, so I can't sit here and go through it all right this sec. I'll take a more through look at it as soon as I get home. You guys can search my started threads here and I'm sure you can come to the conclusion that I'm legit in my support. One of the posts even has my full name and email. Another has me mentioned in an article from the pasco straw poll I helped organize (not to mention the USF debate support I helped with).

I'm going to look back on the facebook wall, etc and see if I can get any more details or see if the posts were deleted, etc. The fellow I vouched for was a poster on one of the local ron paul groups. I didn't go further than looking at his facebook page and reading through his posts before I vouched. I understand that makes me look bad now. This is the first time I've encountered a scam online like this in a lifetime of being on forums. Naive and duped to say the least.

Like i said, i'll take a further look at this after work this evening to see if I can provide any more info about this person. I glanced through some pages of this and i see you guys vetted him pretty hard already so i'm not sure if i'll have anything new.

^legit, as a long time pretty well known supporter and activist from 2007, I'll vouch for him. Even though I am weary of Ron Paul Products. The problems with the super brochure aren't the results of scamming. This has more to do with the campaigns disengagement with Florida going back to the creation of C4L and the rift between Florida activist and the campaign's choice to support a top down structure in Florida.

Anyways, I am not as big an activist this year as I was in 2007 due to personal reasons and money. But neverseen helped me connect with 2011-2012 Florida activities and deserves major credit for reaching out to RPF and organizing Florida supporters who use these forums.

You so sure about that?

RevPac (heard of them?) has also disavowed Ron Paul Products, creators of the "Super" Brochures, because they screwed up the Super Voter Bomb project:

Details in this thread: http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthread.php?333306-No-Worries-Super-Voter-Bomb-Mailing-in-Process

These are very strong statements from an official SuperPAC. To my knowledge they have not said anything else about any other "grassroots" project.

Plus here's a (pretty rude and defensive) response from Curt of Ron Paul Products in another thread when questioned nicely about the effectiveness of the brochures:

http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showth...uth-Carolina&p=3975372&viewfull=1#post3975372

60+ women calling to say the brochures are great? Really, then why didn't they end up supporting Dr. Paul?

According to this thread, of the Iowa vote breakdown, Ron didn't do very well with 60+ voters, scoring only 15% with 50-64 voters, and only 11% with 65+ voters.

So even looking past what RevPac said about Ron Paul Products, Curt's rude response, which is making it really hard for any objective person to trust/do business with Ron Paul Products, the stats prove the brochures are NOT WORKING (or someone is not telling the truth). The biggest stat so far: $150,000 of our money spent in SC for "Super" Brochures, Result: 0 delegates, 4th place finish. Thank god they weren't direct-mailed to NH where we finished a strong 2nd.
You are missing my point. I don't endorse or support the Superbrochure, I think it's a waste of resources, and there is evidence out there that would suggest it actually hurts the cause of liberty. However, it's legitimate in the sense that we know they're actually being produced and sent. A billboard is a good idea, but in the case of this specific individual, there was nothing to suggest that he was legitimate... I don't know about you, but when some random guy pops up asking for money to put up a billboard, I'm not contributing to his ChipIn unless I know he's 100% for real. I wasn't trying to start a Superbrochure debate, I was just commenting on the ignorance of whomever actually contributed to this guy. Regardless, I hope they get their money back.

I'll argue this for arguments sake, not really to do another anti superbrochure rant.

2 different projects.

1) Superbrochure. We know that they are sending superbrochures.
But the campaign says they hurt Ron Paul. So, yes we know they're doing something, but it's harmful.

2) Billboard. We don't know if they're actually going to be putting up billboards.
But we haven't heard that the Billboard is harmful. So, we don't

You can go back to the thread about the billboard, and you can read what people were saying about this billboard project. No one thought it was a scam, and the argument was whether a billboard in Florida was a good idea.
Read above.

Personally, it sounds fake to me. If he needed more money for the billboards, then why not just ask for more on the very thread that was created to raise funds for it? That part makes no sense: "I need more money for the billboards, so I will make a brand new account on RPF, a brand new FaceBook (use a random picture off of Google for a profile picture), and a brand new thread asking for money for a completely different reason, in a completely different state. As opposed to bumping my last thread, where I actually had someone vouch for me." The only part of him that sounds 16 is his grammar and punctuation..
Hey hey now. He doesn't rep all sixteen year olds. I can handle my grammar and punctuation just fine, thank you! ;)

btw, neverseen is not a scammer. just naive. I'm in his tampa bay meetup group. I think he just got excited that someone was trying to do something like this in FL.

No offense to you personally but I don't usually trust the word of new posters with a young girl name and cute picture either. That's usually also a dead giveaway of a scammer or sock puppet too. Just sayin.

given the fact that the pic is of a girl holding a bloody knife, my guess is that profile pic is from a movie. not that your point isn't valid anyway.

Affa, I think you are confusing me and my avatar with others.
devil21 was referring to new member BrittanySligar.

I have been rocking my Buffy avatar since January 2008.
I also was one of the primary people to bust this scam.

I just wanted to clear any association with myself and noobness!
(Though I should also note, I have nothing against BrittanySligar or noobness in general.)

Okay, what? Nobody responded to this? Did the moderators look the other way while some person bilked thousands of dollars from members here for a luxury trip?

Also bumping this for anyone that may have given money to this guy's phony Florida billboard. File a complaint with Paypal, quickly.

This was bound to happen eventually. It is incredible this doesn't happen more often. Be careful who you give money to! I am waiting to see if this person returns peoples money? Hopefully it works out and hopefully people on the forums will be more selective about who they donate to.

I know ;) Actually I guess I'll see just how well I can handle my grammar tomorrow. SAT!

I hope that your range of vocabulary is fairly large, for they use a plethora of different words in the reading section, that I had never once thought existed.

They like to mind boggle you in the writing section.

If you are adept at math, then it should be easy. None of my SATs had Calculus, however they did have a few questions on Pre-Calculus.

Good luck.

On my PSAT, I scored in the 97th percentile in Critical Reading, 72nd percentile in mathematics and 82nd percentile in Writing Skills. Good for an overall score within the 90th percentile. Math is obviously my weak point :P

But I've been practicing. We'll see :)

I went through my messages from him back around the time of the miami post and i can't find anything. i went way back in the central fl group and i can't find anything there also. Annnnd as for my vouch, i re read it and it states the facts.

Ron's new here but he's a facebook member of our central florida group.

Both of those statements were true. Moot point i know. Other than my passionate defense of FL to the anti-fl zanzibar I didn't notice any other vouching. I'll be very careful of any further vouching from here out...

zanzibar is dishonest as well, he is on the forums under multiple ids and rpf is ok with it.
