Barry Goldwater Jr. changes support from Paul to Romney

They're not our enemies, but they're also not our allies. Sorry, an endorsement is an endorsement, I don't care how you want to distort the word. Unless Rand was threatened he has NO excuse for what he did, period. As far as Goldwater, as I said before, he's not his father, because his father would have never endorsed a corporate candidate.

The fact is, either Romney or Obama is going to be elected. I hear about the "false left-right paradigm". Its not false, that is what we have unfortunately.

When some good people say they are supporting Romney now, they prefer Romney to Obama. I mean, that makes sense. I prefer Romney to Obama, I think this country would be in better shape with him, as would the liberty movement. Obama won't sign any pro-liberty legislation, but Romney might and probably will as concessions. But I'm writing in Ron Paul.

Yet people act as if there is some great treason going on, after these people supported Ron Paul strongly during the primaries in both runs. Its not like they suddenly sold their soul to the devil. They didn't get bought off; and no offense to them, they are not important enough to be bought off. They didn't suddenly change their ideology either.

My advice is that this movement be respectful to Romney and endorse change in November like our great Ron Paul delegates did. Don't get cuddly with Romney, just make peace with him. This is NOT the ideal situation, but I prefer it to our movement becoming the LaRouche movement of the right. We have come too far for that to happen.

Everything you said were very valid points up until the last part. Romney and the establishment had their chance to make peace with us if they really wanted us on board, but instead and cheated and silenced Dr. Paul and us every step of the way.

So while I understand that those who are engaging in the political process may have to do what they have to do, but I'm going to continue to make sure people know damn why he's going to lose almost all of this now significant voting bloc because he did the exact opposite of even considering the things we stand for. They made this personal.

No, but, how refreshing would it be to have had him say, "I cannot, in good conscience, endorse either major candidate for president. I officially withdraw any endorsement."

Everybody can't be you. Everybody can't be us. But if you were sitting at a table full of random people, GW Jr. would likely be closest to you in ideology. I'm thinking REALLY likely.

That is true, as I have been told from older people. Not sure if it is really true, but they believed so.

Jr.'s gonna be him and we're gonna be us. If we meet in agreement again, then great. If not, then not. Same with Rand. I say leave the door open for agreement later. I say GW Jr. has been honest and forthright, and that's a lot more than I can say for any number of people. When people are honest, you can have an honest discussion.

Rand should be your ally for fighting for liberty legislation bills and not taking lobbyist money. Until he stops doing that, I think you need to reflect on how inconsequential rhetoric is.

With all do respect you don't know what Rand does behind the scene, only he does. We'll see what happens. Rand has done a great job, but his endorsement of Romney has and will always concern me about his future in a political party based off bribery and lies.

I know, and what Romney's group did was wrong. But acting likewise does not help us. A lot of this is about perception. I talk to people all the time, and the Ron Paul people are viewed as whiny, sore losers. People like Mark Levin were mad at the RNC rule changes. Granted, he will never support Ron Paul's ideas, but we can get support from the Tea Party and moderate bases. But they will never like this movement if we are cursing Romney till the end. Look, I talk to people that think Ron Paul supporters are closet Obama bots because they hate Romney so much.

Becoming decisively anti-Obama would help this movement make HUGE inroads within the GOP. Not so much pro-Romney, because remember much of the GOP is already holding their nose to vote for him. We just can't be anti-Romney and expect to get anywhere.

With all of this effort to get people like Massie, Bentivolio, and Stockman elected....I want to get somewhere within the GOP.
