It's not So-called. I am pro-life. You are pro-murder-the-unborn. Own it.
I favor decriminalization of the drug laws. I do not support someone abusing their body to get high. I am not pro-recreational narcotics. Not wanting the government to regulate an area is not the same as wanting people to make the most extreme and irrational decisions. Rather, I accept that edge cases ought not be the providence of our overlords.
More so, despite being a guy, I know the miscarriage rate is quiet high and although stillbirths are not as frequent, they are not uncommon. I don't think Uncle Sam ought to have a role prior to the issuance of a Certificate of Live Birth or other substantial evidence that the child was indeed a living, healthy child nor should woman or their doctors be subject to state second-guessing of very-difficult decisions or unfortunate negative outcomes.
Here is a question for the pro-state-intervention-in-pregnancy-affairs people:
Newsweek’s pro-abortion columnist, Anna Quindlen, recently wrote that pro-lifers have generally avoided the question of how women should be punished if they obtained the procedure when abortion was re-criminalized. The “news hook” for this column was a short documentary on the internet website YouTube where a man with a video camera asked a half-dozen American pro-life demonstrators
what should be done with women who have abortions if the demonstrators got their way and abortion was illegal (again). Typical responses included: “I’ve never really thought about it;” “I don’t have an answer for that;” “I don’t know.” Quindlen concluded her column: “There are only two logical choices: hold women accountable for a criminal act by sending them to prison or refuse to criminalize the act in the first place. If you can’t countenance the first, you have to accept the second. You can’t have it both ways.”

Here are carefully selected quotes from the above link to paint a baised picture of the outcome:
I’ve always believed that it should be the doctor.
However, those who carry out abortions or who counsel a woman to abort should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law for murder. These people, in most instances, are gaining economically from the vulnerability of the women and are under no psychological duress. Their act is the epitome of cold-blooded murder and, because it is often repeated numerous times, they can be considered the perpetrators of genocide.
The main ones to be held accountable by the law should be those who commit abortions, those who assist at the procedures and those who promote abortions.
Assuming that we enacted penalties for multiple contributors (the crime’s victim-perpetrators/observer-accessories), the mother’s “sentencing” could normally be through the mental health system. Most cases could even be “statused-out” so that prosecution was deferred pending treatment through a quality post-abortion healing program and treatment-compliant women could end up without a criminal record.
From a different article:
(2)
A more severe punishment should be given to the abortionist, as he or she is the one profiting off the abortion practice and would likely have a much fuller understanding of what an abortion does to a developing human being in utero. Past statutes normally punished with a long prison sentence.
(3)
A less severe punishment should be given to the woman found guilty of inducing abortion, with increasing severity for repeated offenses. However, since convicting someone of a crime requires evidence, and there likely would be little material evidence in abortion cases, it may be appropriate to offer the woman impunity or a lesser charge in exchange for testimony against the abortionist.

There seems to be little or no appetite to punish woman by these pro lifers. Rather, they want the men in the the violent, disease-filled rape dungeons.
For all the tough talk I heard about holding pregnant persons accountable, the pro-life moment appears to be filled with pansies that will do no such thing.
The pro-life crowd doesn't want abortion to be "safe, legal, and rare" but "unsafe, illegal, and rarely prosecuted".
