Ban Guns

If no one has a gun, JohnLVT, how are we to be able to fight against a tyrannical government?

Well if the government is funded by a LVT then by definition it cannot be tyrannical, and no one would need to fight it.

Just be willing to pack up and leave whenever the government decides you aren't worthy of where you are living at and well all get along peacefully, like good citizens.

It's so simple and fair, why everyone doesn't agree is beyond comprehension GET IT!

You need a good reason for owning one, like a farmer for pests. Even farmers are refused. They do not throw gun licences around like confetti. I believe they banned replica guns as well. An certain types of combat knives. Criminals were so short of guns they were using replicas, so they banned them as well. Good move. Promotes freedom from fear of firearms.

All I need to do is get an application form, fill it out, send it off, have a visit from a police officer and demonstrate adequate secure storage, decision is made, and then you can receive the certificate. I know many people, some younger than me, with shotgun licenses. That imaginary farmer friend has some pretty powerful rifles too. I'm pretty sure no license covered those.

Then again, if I wanted a license but didn't get one for some reason, I could also take the 10 minute commute into London (or any other city) and buy one illegally. It's not as difficult as you make it out to be in either case.

The ballot box!

Oooh! I picked up some at auction. They hold about 100# of potatoes. Filled with sand they could be used as cover, otherwise they're pretty thin sheet metal and would only qualify as concealment.

XNN

I'm all for disarmament. Let's start by disarming the police, the ATF, the FBI, the DHS, and the CIA, and play it by ear from there. :D

Epistomology matters

You cannot use results in various countries to prove either of these conflicting statements:

a) Violent crime rises (or falls) as a result of legal restrictions on firearms
b) Violent crime rises (or falls) despite legal restrictions on firearms

To do so is to err by applying empiricism to the social sciences.

I strongly suggest watching this video:

Much safer having a gun myself than not.

And you?

Here in Mississippi we have this silly little law called the Castle Doctrine.

Basically if someone is an intruder inside your home you have the legal right to kill them, even with a gun, without any fear of being charged nor sued.

I think the same applies to places of business and even in your car if I'm not mistaken.

Doesn't stop all crime, but it makes me feel much safer knowing I won't be prosecuted for defending myself on my own property.

Are you English and live in England? I understanding is that all guns are licensed and they are difficult to get hold of.
