Baby boomer nostalgia is already oppressive. It’s about to get so much worse.

Don't get so defensive, I am not saying there is anything wrong with the path you have chosen, maybe HB can help you cope.

I'm not defensive, just don't want to read about the strange places your mind goes.

Trigger warning....

I'll take my 60s music any day over the crap that passes for "music" today.

I have this recurring vision of a bunch 80-90 years old Boomers sitting around the rest homes, wearing blue jeans and T-shirts and listening to 50's and 60's rock and roll. ;) :D

ahhhh no...
I believe you are totally wrong. The "Boomers" were born post world war 2 (1946 - 1964). The math (even the new math), puts the oldest boomer at around 69.
Today's 69 is yesterdays 59...The generation you are thinking of is from the "Silent Generation" (mid 1920s to the early 1940s). The music they listened to was the Big Bopper and band era. ;)
The real trouble came through the loins of the radical boomers, and that scourge is known as the Millennials....it is that generation that is turning the World to shit.

I'm a 1946 Boomer.

Say, it just occurred to me, the ones pointing to the Boomers as being the cause of the decline of civilization....are....wait for it.....The Millies!
How utterly characteristic!

I think that the Boomers have experienced the best era in history. I remember freedoms that I experienced growing up that will never be experienced by anyone again. I sure wouldn't trade that for what lies ahead...:(
