I think it's more likely that he's not just picking fights w/ customers for shits and giggles - as has been mentioned before, he goes after people dealing drugs on the premises (the immorality of the drug war aside, not a single person here would want people dealing drugs around their business) and I'll bet he's come across tons of thieves and has told tons of people not to come back to the mall but they do it anyway. So then he has to confront them and some people get the idea that's he's some kind of power tripper. That's my theory anyway

considering he seems to know these people (calls them by name) I would say there might be more to this confrontation. Like others have suggested those people may have been told to keep out before. Then there attitude only escalated his response. God knows in Atlanta anyone in their could be carrying so I could see him being super paranoid. Also the fact he told them to leave multiple times and all they did was mouth of and get confrontational did not help anything.

All I saw there was a bunch of punks with ghetto attitudes trying to tell a security guard (and possibly a owner) of this place that they would not only not leave but are hellbent on causing a ruckus. That woman half way through is a perfect example.

If he is a part owner then his response is perfectly responsible.

Cause it's a shithole? Maybe with a few more guys like him it would be cleaned up. This is your free market at work, business owner gets sick of crime, takes legal steps to remedy.

I know here in my county the first thing they teach people when they get licensed to work security is this "You are not the police, you work for a private employer on private property"

I know this guy was the property owner, and not law enforcement, but in general I think tazers are disguising, makes me feel sick every time I see one being used.

I recall them being introduced in my country as a "less lethal" alternative to a firearm, which I think is fine. But then the measure for using one needs to be that the use of a firearm would otherwise have been appropriate. Almost every time I see a tazer used, a firearm would not have been appropriate.

Today they seem to be used as a device for threatening electrocution in order to gain compliance. Basically the threat of torture.

Granted this guy was apparently trying to exercise his property rights, but I still think the tazer, like the drone, has so much scope to be abused it seems to me to be an almost entirely negative instrument. Makes me shudder.

Regardless of my opinion on whether people should be allowed to put whatever they want in their bodies, I also have a right to keep that shit off my property.
