For those worried about Dr. Paul being assassinated, a friend made this remark to me tonight, which I hadn't considered but makes a lot of sense: IF anyone tries it, he doesn't think it'll happen unless Paul actually becomes president, because it'd be a lot easier, less obvious, and would bother their consciences a lot less to derail him some other way if at all possible, such as getting behind his opponents in the primaries (as they're doing now), and getting behind his opponent in the general if he gets the nomination. Assassination probably only becomes a possibility as a last resort, if he somehow overcomes all of the odds and becomes president and there's no other way to get rid of him -- not, of course, that it's likely to happen even then. But if it does, that's the most likely scenario. Again, it makes sense.
