Fighters from Iraqi Popular Mobilization Units to assist Syria in anti-terror fight

A spokesman for the forces said on Saturday that they plan to cross the border into Syria
to fight alongside President Bashar al-Assad
after clearing northern Iraqi territories from the Daesh Takfiri terrorist group.

"After clearing all our land from these terrorist gangs,
we are fully ready to go to any place that contains a threat to Iraqi national security,"
Ahmed al-Asadi said during a briefing with journalists in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad.

The Popular Mobilization Units, generally known by the Arabic title Hashd al-Shaabi,
are currently contributing to Iraqi military’s large-scale operation to liberate the northern Iraqi city of Mosul from Daesh.
The Shia fighters have announced that they would mostly help the drive around Mosul and not enter the city to avoid accusations of sectarianism.

The volunteer forces on Saturday began an offensive west of Mosul to cut supplies
between the city and Raqqah, the de facto capital of Daesh in Syria, to tighten the siege against the militants and liberate the town of Tal Afar.

The forces have played a major role in previous offensives against Daesh in central and western parts of Iraq.
The group’s members have already fought alongside Syrian forces against various terror groups,
but the Saturday announcement could formalize their involvement in Syria.

Over the past months, Syria has managed to recapture swathes of land
from Daesh and other groups in east and north of the country.
During the nearly six-year battle, the Syrian military has heavily relied
on fighters from Lebanese resistance movement, Hezbollah, as well as advisory military support from Iran.
Russia also helps Syria in the fight against terrorists
through a series of coordinated airstrikes on their positions.

Iraqi forces may enter Syria to fight Daesh: Adviser

This is the first time an Iraqi official speaks about the possibility of sending Iraqi troops into war-torn Syria to fight Daesh

BAGHDAD

An Iraqi adviser hinted Saturday that Iraqi forces might enter Syrian territories to fight the Daesh militant group.

Speaking at a forum in Najaf in central Iraq, Faleh al-Fayyad, a national security adviser to the Iraqi government, said Iraqi forces were making progress in the ongoing operation to retake Daesh-held Mosul city.

“…we might be forced to enter Syrian territories to fight Daesh after liberating Mosul,” he added.

This is the first time that an Iraqi official speaks about the possibility of sending troops into war-torn Syria to fight Daesh.

Iraq shares a long border with Syria.

Fayyay denied that the PKK terrorist group was participating in the anti-Daesh offensive in Mosul.

“The participation of this group will not be allowed,” he said.

The above is BY FAR one of the most significant events
in the Russian/Hegemon face off so far. It's an epic move... not completely unexpected..
but still. It's FULL of Win.

Here's the hegemon 'reaction' to it.... you can read between the lines.

Al Jazeera (Qatar)
Shia militias open new front in battle for Mosul: Sunni Muslims view them to be just as criminal as ISIL

c00f2faec7534e9fba88d4751b3142f7_18.jpg

I'm celebrating tonight. :)

It just doesn't get any better than this quote:

Michael Pregent, Middle East analyst and a former US intelligence officer who served in Iraq,
told Al Jazeera the Shia militias' move was not sanctioned by Iraq's government.

He said the hope by Baghdad and Washington was that ISIL
would use the western route to flee Mosul
for a "final battle" later in its Syrian bastion of Raqqa.

"The Shia militias are operating outside the control of the Iraqi government.
They're not responsive to US requests not to participate," said Pregent.

"The military operation wasn't to encircle Mosul,
it was to force ISIL out into Syria
.
The Shia militias are blocking that now.
It sounds like a good military tactic but it's not synced, it's not coordinated.
And the Shia militias remain a wildcard,
based on what they've done in Ramadi and Fallujah."

#USA announced #Iraq is halting its #MosulOps

No Pause in Mosul Op, Iraq Rejects US Claim

image_1476267474_71032879.jpg

TRUTH
Iraqi Special Forces’ commanders said the coalition had withheld its support
as the Mosul operation was going through one of its toughest embryonic stages.

Indeed, not only the US-led coalition has reduced its airstrikes against ISIS to a meaningful level
but also reports reveal that US is providing the terrorist groups with arms and ammunition.

The US choppers unloaded a big military equipment cargo in the Iraqi province of Diyala
that was later recollected by the ISIS terrorists, an Iraqi security source told Alwaght on Saturday.

Two US choppers unloaded a big weapons and military equipment cargo in the Tal Salima district in the al-Saadia region,
the source told Alwaght under the condition of anonymity.

The choppers flew over Hamrin Lake in the region for several minutes
before unloading the cargo, the source said adding the cargo
was recollected by ISIS members on board some boats stationed on the lake.

Studying filed development in Mosul, one can conclude
that Washington does not seeks to destroy ISIS in Mosul
rather it seeks drive terrorists out of Mosul
and relocate them to Syria
in order to support Syrian militants
in the face of Syrian government.

LIES
A top US military commander had claimed on Saturday that the operation
will be paused for what he called a “regrouping” of the forces present in the operation.

“We believe that [regrouping] will take two days
before continuing the advance towards Mosul,”
Coalition spokesman Colonel John Dorian said.

Dangerous advance of terrorist groups toward Tal Afar, Iraq

Amid the ongoing operation to liberate the predominantly Sunni Iraqi city of Mosul,
the Shiite militia group Hashd al-Shaabi is advancing toward Turkmen-populated ISIS INFESTED Tal Afar
despite Ankara's warnings.

Some 3,000 Shaabi militias, directly backed by the Iranian government, IRAQI VOLUNTEERS ENDORSED BY IRAQ FIGHTING FOR IRAQI SOVEREIGNTY
have reportedly crossed the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK)-held city of Sinjar
to seize the Turkmen city.

According to military sources, the plan was made last week
during Iran's Revolutionary Guard Commander Qasem Soleiman's visit to Sulaymaniyah
in the Iraqi Kurdish autonomous region.

During his visit, Soleimani met PKK leaders and made a deal for cooperation in the assault on Tel Afer.

Intelligence reports say that at least 60,000 people, mostly Turkmens, CITIZENS OF IRAQ ON IRAQI SOIL
are facing Shiite massacre LIBERATION in the city if the Hashd al-Shaabi militias enter.

TurkmensISIS, Jihaddis and Traitors in the city called on Turkey
to take active initiative to stop the “vengeful” Shiite group complete RUIN OF THE ISIS/TURKEY TRADE ROUTE.

ROIDERS: Turkey wants the US to delay Raqqa offensive 4 months so Turkey & Arab partners, not Kurds, can spearhead attack.

(The Truth? All the Exits for their black flag proxies are getting sealed off.... they need to S-L-O-W down the Mosul progress
so they have more TIME to evacuate them by AIR... that's right... same as BUSES... but with wings. ;)
They don't have time to exfiltrate them all through Turkey into Europe. I hear Libya is nice this time of year and of course Sudan. )

goldenequity, once Syria is free of foreign terrorists do you think Asad will ultimately allow this self-proclaimed automaous area and Northern Kurdish army to stand should they be the cause of successfully pushing back Turkey/ISIS in the North or will they both have to battle each other in the end?

A very good question. and a very complex one...
NO WAY anybody can answer that and be sure of their answer.
You KNOW all the factors involved... you could probably make a list right?
You could probably write a thesis paper on that question alone
and get your doctorate. hahaha. :D

(Though an autonomous/federalized Kurd 'State' is vastly more complex geo-politically...
you could look at Crimea for a simple template... at a bare minimum it must be voted
to show a consensus to fulfill the concept of 'self-determination' under International Law
(that ALONE is an excruciating subject and has a hegemonic history
of being selectively applied complete with UN rubber stamping)... Kosovo comes to mind...
then
It must be 'accepted' by the Sovereign State including HUGE details
like taxes and resources (aka the OIL baby... the OIL :)
The Syrian Government (not Assad alone) would have to first decide to create such a federalized system.
So... the 'self-declaration' by the Rojavan council is important.... but is purely symbolic... not legal. )

From a moral standpoint... I think the Rojavan people deserve it if that's what they want.
but understand also that THEY THEMSELVES are split into political and philosophical factions
and lean very heavily towards Marxism and Collectivism
(which works great when everyone is struggling TOGETHER but falls RAPIDLY apart
as soon as greed and human nature set in and you get your Oligarchs and Privileged developing...
EXACTLY like what you find in Erbil / Peshmerga / Barzani... no one is 'immune' not even
those cute little Kurdish babes with Uzzis. hahaha. )

Even the above has only grazed the surface.
Consider THIS.

Iraq/Syria Border (God forsaken land... ugh.)

Iraqi refugees” we are digging our tombs alive”

HSK-KOCBER-GORA-XWE-BE-DESTE-XWE-DIKOLIN-7-620x364.jpg

HASAKE– “We are digging our tombs ourselves.” This is how one of the Iraqi refugee described their suffering
at the Rajm Saleeb border crossing in the middle of the desert on the Iraqi-Syrian borders.
Many have resorted to digging holes in order to keep themselves safe
from the changeable weather conditions describing the holes as “tombs”
amid poor possibilities and lack of help.

Thousands of Iraqi refugees have been, since the 17th of October,
flooding to Rojava fleeing the oppression of IS and the ongoing battles
around the outskirts of Mosul.
While those refugees are residing the wilderness
without any humanitarian organizations giving heed to their suffering,
they however were welcomed by Rojava Organization for Aid and Development
in accordance with the available possibilities,
though hardly managing to survive
as Rojava is suffering from siege itself.

It is eye-catching as you reach the crossing
that refugees have dug two-meter holes which are close to each other,
the refugees having no shelters to keep themselves safe
but these holes covering it with pieces of fabric and erected on empty cans
to protect them from the showering rain, the burning sun, and frequent sandstorms.

"Yesterday, it rained heavily and we had to burn our children’ diapers to warm ourselves
as we lack the simplest means of facing this severe weather here”
hoping to find help as soon as possible.

All refugees have appealed to the humanitarian organizations to give help and provide some tents
which may help alleviate their suffering.

I have no words for what I see. I want to put John McCain into one of those holes.
