Neither of the two Russian strategic bombers that flew to Venezuela on Wednesday are carrying nuclear weapons, a Russian air force spokesman said on Thursday, quoted by Interfax.

“There were no nuclear weapons on board these planes,” said the spokesman, Vladimir Drik.

NATO planes tracking the two Tu-160 bombers as they flew to the South American country on Wednesday came “dangerously close,” he added.

Socialism is South America means stopping global corporations from coming in and kicking indigenous folks off their land, raping their country and giving them nothing in return. Socialism in South America means sovereignty and freedom. Chavez was part of a freedom movement, they just wanted to give the people their land back.

It's much different than socialism here... though soon that may change when all the other countries drop their dollars back on our country and buy us up. You won't own anything and you will have to work for a Chinese person who doesn't give a rats ass about America.

I like the double standards people have around here. One man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter right? Chavez locks up political opponents, and civilians with no restraint and claims their interests are in that of the U.S.
Venezuela is still a corrupt nation, with rampant crime. You people complain about hippies getting shot with beanbags, but what about Chavez's opponents getting hit with real bullets? Socialism in the developing world is almost always a ploy for a new tyranny.
